Summary

In 10 powerful stories, Victoria Hislop takes us through the streets of Athens and into the tree-lined squares of Greek villages. As she evokes their distinct atmosphere, she brings vividly to life a host of unforgettable characters, from a lonesome priest to battling brothers, and from an unwanted stranger to a groom troubled by music and memory. These bittersweet tales of love and loyalty, of separation and reconciliation, captured in Victoria Hislop's unique voice, will stay with you long after you reach the end. Three of these stories appeared previously published in Victoria Hislop's collection, One Cretan Evening.

The last dance and other stories

Stories where good but too short, I enjoyed them and listening to them but just not long enough as just as you got into the story it would end. Some good full length books here just waiting to be finished.

Short Stories

If you could sum up The Last Dance and Other Stories in three words, what would they be?

Very Short Stories

Any additional comments?

I like Victoria Hislop's novels and look forward to her next book but I was disappointed with these stories as they were too short.

Too fast

Could not enjoy listening to this as the narrator spoke too fast. Have always enjoyed reading the books - maybe audio isn’t for me?

Not a page turner

Too short, too simple and rather dull. Stories were not diverse enough but may be enjoyable if you've got a love of Greece. There won't be much to discuss at bookclub!
