Summary

The saga of Krakenstein concludes in cataclysmic, mind-blowing action in the Next Regeneration trilogy.

The former Dr. Max Shepperton, who long ago became a superhero daikaiju by default when he merged with an ancient marine creature and the mutated result grew to immense size, is still at it 20 years after the original trilogy.

This time around, he takes on a shape-shifting titan made of nanobots and controlled by his vengeful brother, battles a life-draining giant horror from the depths of outer space, and then ends up going at it against the most dangerous lifeforms ever to inhabit the Earth: humans themselves. But, of course, not all humans are out to get him, and, in fact, he still has a circle of "tiny" friends including characters from the original trilogy and...naturally...the "next generation".

Chief among the new human heroes are Rhone Ferris and Jona Sanders, a devoted and loving couple who seek to help the gigantic hero survive and possibly even triumph against a new gallery of terrifying and deadly menaces. Globe-spanning action and thrills inspired by famous cinematic monsters like Godzilla, Gamera, and Gorgo. Come along! You're in for some major world-smashing kicks.

So much fun

So this is my second foray into the word of Krakenstein, and this time we have 3 stories of monster, aliens and nanobot mecha. Of the 3 books, it was definitely Book 3 that blew me away as I've really enjoyed the dynamic that grows between KStein and Deanna and the threat of the nanomech, with its arsenal of awesome weaponry that led to some truly excellent fights!
Narration meanwhile remains constantly excellent throughout and I always enjoy Justin's hamming it up or the villains.
Such a fin, well balanced series.
