Summary

When sun flares hit the Earth, intense heat, toxic radiation and flooding followed, wiping out much of the human race. Those who survived live in basic communities in the mountains, hunting for food.

For Mark and his friends, surviving is difficult, and then an enemy arrives, infecting people with a highly contagious virus. Thousands die, and the virus is spreading. Worse, it's mutating, and people are going crazy. It's up to Mark and his friends to find the enemy - and a cure - before the Flare infects them all.

simply amazing

great story with a lot of detail, I'm always slightly sad when I finish one of James dashner's books because it means I can't keep reading

Enjoyable

I really enjoyed the whole Maze Runner series. The first book was a little slow to get going but once in, I was hooked.

Surprisingly good!

I read and really enjoyed the Maze Runner trilogy, saw this and thought it would be another weak precall just milking a franchise. I actually decided not to read it but forgot to remove it from my wish list. I by mistake downloaded it when buying a few other titles. As a number of titles where downloading at the same time, this just happened to be the only one ready to listen when I got on the bus. I'm glad, it is awesome!! Better than the Mase Runner trilogy but definately not a stand alone book. Having read the trilogy makes this book all the better. It is more emotive than I expected.

Commuter Friendly

A group of friends find themselves in a hostile toxic environment. They must do what they need to survive while trying to make sense of it all. An enthralling audio. Each Chapter draws you tantalisingly into the next. Suitable for teens and above.

Well read and a gripping story

Practically the book is very well read and Mark does a great job. The story is also really good and offers a fresh taste of the world of the Maze Runner. Really enjoyable.

Now I understand

Would you consider the audio edition of The Kill Order to be better than the print version?

I have never read the print version and I most probably won't because I don't usually read a book after listening to it.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Kill Order?

Finding out how the kill order was issued

What about Mark Deakins’s performance did you like?

He brought the characters to life. After listening to him throughout the Maze Runner series I felt that he had a good grasp of the story line and characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes but I couldn't so I listened whenever I could.

Any additional comments?

I listened to this book after listening to the series, I didn't feel that I'd lost anything doing it in this order. Whether you listen to this book before or after the Maze Runner series I strongly recommend that you do listen /read this book.

Well read

But the book seemed like one long chase with lots of fighting and a very poor ending in my view. Not a very satisfying read for me. I did like the fact that there is actually no swearing though so I could listen by speaker without offending anyone.
