Summary

Ian Dex fights fiendish ubernaturals, battles smoking hot mages, and can seduce a succubus in an instant. He's also the chief of the Las Vegas Paranormal Police Department (PPD)...where it's always crazy, completely unpredictable, and loaded with snark.

Note: These audiobooks contain adult themes & language, tons of innuendo, and dirty jokes. You have been warned. ;)

The Merging (Book 1) - A new demon-powered mage has arrived on the Strip and he's quite a tool. Worse, he looks like a flippin' Chippendales model...and he knows it. Ian Dex and his crew have to cut their way through a megalomaniac vampire, a lunatic werewolf, a seriously annoying fae, and a buttload of demons in order to take down Captain Hot Pants. All in a day's pay...except that they work at night.

Grave Creatures (Book 2) - When local cemeteries start spitting out their dead like quarters from a slot machine, Dex and his supernatural crew aren’t strong enough to handle the onslaught. As the zombies approach, Dex and his team must devise a last-shot creative solution to get the normals involved without losing the city to chaos and corpses.

Blood Bane Tower (Book 3) - When ex-cons kidnap a young human woman, Dex rushes to save the damsel in distress. But after the rescue, Ian can’t help but feel slighted when the woman looks past his superhuman sexual aura and falls for his wizard instead. It’s even worse when his whole department gets trapped in the Netherworld with a trio of hungry dragons.

London Growl (Book 4) - Ian hits a bit of an emotional snag when word comes in that Rachel has been kidnapped. He rushes off across the pond in order to save her. But in order to track her down, he must team up with Rachel's current partner, a man who clearly idolizes James Bond. It’s even worse because Ian's current partner, Harvey the werebear, decides he wants to play the part of Sherlock Holmes.

Great story telling and seriously funny.

Listening in public places could lead to getting strange looks as you struggle to stop yourself laughing out loud.

Surprisingly Good Fun

Being familiar with Logsdon name i was confident with this great adventure so i didn't mind gaining the audio to match the books.
The big surprise was the audios are actually even better than the books either cause the spoken word helps or the Narrator being so familiar with the story as Logsdon is perhaps a better narrator than writer to my immense surprise.
Normally i keep away from these efforts as they can be very hit and miss but i have been converted in this instance and found it to be a enjoyable and worthwhile endeavour.
So immense praise for a funny, zany humourous and action packed series of adventures done very well.
5 stars across the board

Ian Dex

I’ve loved listening to these stories. I don’t normally like going through a series in one go as I like to change things and listen to a variety of novels but I went through these easily and happily.

Ok read.

if you are a die-hard fan of zombies, ware wolves, vampires and the fantastical, it's an OK series but not great. it tries to be funny, but falls flat. it's not very engaging.

Took 3 times to get into the series

This series slowly grows on you, by book 2 I was curious by book 3 I was rooting for the main characters and laughing all the way by the end of book 4 I wanted to listen to the rest of the series currently in the next compilation. well worth my golden token.
The narrator was actually pretty good he has more voice range than most on audible. good enough to draw me in eventually. I actually dont mind re-listening once again.
Bravo to the Authors for keeping it fresh and fun.

Don’t waste your time

I wish I could give -🌟s. The story was urban fiction which I love .However, The characters seemed to written by a 14 year boy.it was painful to listen and really offensive in some parts. The stories didn’t make much sense and the author makes little effort to explain Anything.
The narrator was horrible. He made a terrible book even worse. He is completely incapable of doing a female voice. They all sounded like sex operators
On my death bed I will list these books as one of my life regrets .

4 books, 1 credit. Good deal

I loved the storylines. There is plenty of action, snark and funny situations. For the author being the one that narrated the books, he did a great job giving individual voices . Now off to buy the second bundle set in this series for one credit. Great way to kill some time

This is a great fantasy series

This series really opens your eyes to the supernatural world. Giving a different approach to the different class of being. From another angle that caught you off guard. Plus a fair amount of mythology sprinkled in for the inner geek 🤓. Just try it before you prejudice the series.

Stories were fine, hero was unlikeable

i enjoyed the world building and many of the side characters but honestly, the main character is seriously unlikeable. (ex. he takes revenge on a wolf for rejecting him, ugh.) He's completely oversexed and excuses are made for his behavior but ugh.

Not your typical Urban Fantasy

Fun, risque, irreverent, and light-hearted read(listen).

Ian Dex is a great mix of someone that doesn't care about niceties but also cares a lot about his people.
And looks at the world in a different way than anyone else.
