The London Silver Vaults - for well over a century, the largest collection of silver for sale in the world. It has more locks than the Bank of England and more cameras than a celebrity punch-up. Not somewhere you can murder someone and vanish without a trace - only that's what happened. The disappearing act, the reports of a blinding flash of light and memory loss amongst the witnesses all make this a case for Detective Constable Peter Grant and the Special Assessment Unit.

Joseph Lake doesn’t know who he is or where he came from, but he’s beginning to think that the answer might be the death of him. By day, Joseph scrubs toilets and fixes broken light fittings, by night he looks into weird stuff: Local hauntings, unexplained disappearances, satanic cabals dancing naked around ancient stone circles. The usual. The uncanny calls to him like a beacon, and he follows its signal wherever it leads, hoping that one day it will shine a light on who he really is.

Story
It has been thousands of years since beast-kind were united under one banner. The empire encompasses most of the known world, driving out or enslaving the lesser races without mercy. In a state of constant war and conquest, they have perfected the art of battle. For commoner wolf-kind Valian, being accepted and trained in a noble house's army was a dream come true. Without wealth or a family, it was his best shot at attaining honor and glory. Until fate intervened. When Valian discovers he's descended from an ancient and long-thought-extinct line, everything changes.

Story
An inn is a place to rest, a place to talk and share stories, a place to find adventure, or a starting ground for quests and legends. It is in this world, at least. To Erin Solstice, an inn seems like a medieval relic from the past. But here she is, running from Goblins and trying to survive in a world full of monsters and magic. She’d be more excited about all of this if everything wasn’t trying to kill her. But an inn is what she’s found, and so that’s what she becomes; an innkeeper, who serves drinks to heroes and monsters. Mostly monsters. But it’s a living, right?

Timothy Walter Bolton - better known as Timmy - has spent most of his life as a necromancer. When he isn't terrorising his enemies, he's plotting inside his castle, which is built on top of lightless chasms filled with nameless horrors and beings of a generally malevolent and megalomaniacal nature. But after one of his latest creations, a zombie hydra-dragon-bear, tries to eat him, he decides that maybe it's time to find a new, less dangerous, career.

Lagged at times
Have read this series back to back but I felt the pacing was a bit off in this volume. I also don’t think the main story arc has progressed that much over the three volumes and fear a lot is going to be crammed into the final book. Besides these misgivings I have really enjoyed this series and recommend giving it a go.

Zogarahzah and Borgaazah
With one more instalment left to complete the series I'm strongly leaning towards this being in the top of my all time favorite series. I very seldom pick up an audiobook with less than 15 hours per book but the blend of nostalgia and classic ghost story tone with witty interesting characters makes me soo happy to in this case have made an exception! I'm certain that before the final book comes out I'll have listened to the first three at least twice again! Well done Mr. Feuerbach thank you!

Shite and onions!
This series has become one of my favorites. Every book is amazing and it’ll be bitter sweet finishing book 4. Stinker and Farin’s relationship is funny and complicated as ever and Aross’s new friend is a fabulous addition to the series. I’ve laughed, cringed and cried during each book. I love the characters, their relationships with one another and the brutal adventures they end up on during book 3. The narrator is absolutely the best. He does an amazing job! I can’t recommend this series enough!
