Summary

Gnosticism was a wide-ranging religious movement of the first millennium CE - with earlier antecedents and later flourishings - whose adherents sought salvation through knowledge and personal religious experience. Gnostic writings offer striking perspectives on both early Christian and non-Christian thought.

The Gospel of Mary
A gospel, as ancient and authentic as any of the gospels that the Christian bible contains, was buried deep in the Egyptian desert after an edict was sent out in the fourth century to have all copies of it destroyed.

Fortunately, some rebel monks were wise enough to refuse - and thanks to their disobedience and spiritual bravery, we have several manuscripts of the only gospel that was written in the name of a woman: The Gospel of Mary Magdalene

Restores to the forefront of the Christian tradition the importance of the divine feminine and offers a new perspective on the life of one of the most controversial figures in the Western spiritual tradition.

This brief narrative presents a radical interpretation of Jesus' teachings as a path to inner spiritual knowledge. It rejects his suffering and death as a path to eternal life.

Knowledge that has been kept secret by the church for nearly 2,000 years is laid bare for all to see, thereby ending the greatest deception mankind has ever suffered.

“With her own eyes, she saw him.
With her own ears, she heard him.
With her own hands, she touched him.”

The Gospel of John
The auotors assumes that the John who authored the book is someone very close to Jesus, and, therefore, that the gospel is a testimony to events that actually happened in the life of Jesus.
This new edition will help bring the book in which "many people find themselves closer to God and to Jesus Christ than in any other book in the world" closer to home and freshly relevant for today's listeners.

During Jesus’ lifetime, no one understood his mission, but by narrating a few carefully chosen episodes in Jesus’ life, the Apostle John unfolds the truth.

It is an invitation to the reader to put aside their traditional understanding of the Gospel of John and to replace it with another one more faithful to the original text perspective. The Jesus that will emerge will provoke to rethink most of what you knew about this gospel.

“Our vision is often more abstracted by what we think we know than by our lack of knowledge.”

The Gospel of John is filled with profound truths and rich spiritual stories. Stories of Christ’s miracles that inspire his followers; stories of a death that redeems the lost; and stories of a resurrection that provides us with hope for eternal glory. Every miracle, teaching, and action of Jesus that John captures in his Gospel has one clear purpose: to prove that Jesus is the Word, the Messiah, and the Son of God.

The Gospel of Thomas
Jesus preaches the coming of a new man, the genesis of the man of knowledge.
In this volume, Jesus describes a journey from limited to unlimited consciousness. The Jesus of Thomas invites us to drink deeply from the well of knowledge that lies within, not so that we may become good Christians but so we may attain the self-knowledge that will make each of us, too, a Christ.

Discover the original, mystical teachings of Jesus in the Gospel of Thomas, the most important book left out of the Bible.

The Gospel of Thomas contains the seeds of a profound mysticism that can transform our view of the universe - and ourselves.

History Academy unpacks the core teachings of the Gospel in ways that can shift not only how we understand ourselves, but how we view reality itself.

Catholic slanting

It reads the gnostic reading with a slant towards the Catholic Church. Could not get passed the 3rd chapter. I don’t need the Catholic Church telling me what to think.

Not the text….It’s a narration summary opinion

If you’re looking to read the books, this is not it. It’s a view point of opinions from the author that relate to the Bible and Gnostic books with little information. Don’t waste your time.

Conservative interpretation

So incredibly disappointed. I was hoping this would be a balanced interpretation of the gnostic gospels. Nope. Would like my money back.

proselytizing, not new

This is NOT the missing scripture I know this is supposed to be, but a preacher man-splaining how this is the same as scripture!! Same tactic the Johova's Witness tried to use on me!
wish I'd read reviews before purchasing ...

Not the actual gospel

90% commentary and 10% book. Not sure if the actual gospels are available on audibly without commentary, but if you're looking for the actual gnostic gospels this is not the book you're looking for.

Not a great recording

Content is interesting however appears to have errors. I don’t believe 1st century writings would reference television. Reader is very difficult to listen to and has very unusual pausing in his speech.
Only stars are because it’s interesting information

I didn’t like the last narrator. He distracted from the information. Good info and research.

I really love this book.

I really love this book. I have also come to love to listen to this man preach. I would recommend this book to anybody. It gives us a clear and concise understanding of how we ought to look at the gospel, and how we should approach the Lord.
