"I love messing with people."

Each year, on the anniversary of their first meeting, five men spend a week together, hiking, fishing, telling stories, watching films and bonding. This was to be their best ever fishing trip: the thirteenth. But it went wrong (one of them had forgotten his lucky rabbit's foot): destiny. Despite various irritations like the failure to give full character to these men, and what there was was mostly obnoxious, and some strange grammatical fault, often (or should I say oft?) repeated, examples of which are, 'of which you are now a part of', and 'from whom he would soon become a vessel for', I had thought to give this book 4 stars for the atmosphere created and some interesting aspects. Even the following section on the making of Kassius Kanex was fine, following a neat fairy tale format.

But it was the final section which dropped the scoring to a three. Written in a pseudo messianic style much of the time, with lines like 'They knew not why'', and 'Who had nothing, yet had everything', it drones on and on about about power, and destiny, pods, brewing beer and being prepared, and The Organisation, all of which could, I'm sure, have been better conveyed in a few pages rather than chapters. Had it not been for Skyler Morgan's fine narration, I doubt I would have finished the book.

There will obviously be a book three in this series. Will I read it? Not sure. Probably not as I cannot find myself really involved in a struggle for power between these weird sects, especially when I still have no idea for what they are aiming (no following 'for' required!). Just too much, too vague and too jumbled for too long.
My thanks, however, to the rights holder who, at my request, freely gifted me a complimentary copy.

Mind blowing !!!

Does Destiny exist or planned ?

So many questions:

Who was destined to think of
the word destiny, and how ?

If multiverse exist then destiny or choice don’t, because every possibility happens ( sometimes thinking about the universe is just mind blowing ), so my biggest fault is my curiosity.

Even so that I believe of knowing the answer I’ll still ask: My real question for the author MK Schultz is why this book wasn’t the first in the series because if it was then thousands of copies would have sold and even a possibility of a best seller !
Truly amazing what an awesome imagination and how sad it is that only the first two are out in audio, now I can only hope and wish that the third is being worked on and will find it’s way into my hands !

Skyler Morgan perfectly and beautifully narrated each of the characters in this book.

A masterpiece,
Absolutely recommended !

Oded Ostfeld.
