Summary
Rea Carlisle has inherited a house from an uncle she never knew. It doesn’t take her long to clear out the dead man’s possessions, but one room remains locked.
When Rea finally forces it open, she discovers inside a chair, a table and a leather-bound book. Inside its pages are locks of hair, fingernails: a catalogue of victims. Horrified, Rea turns to the only person she can think of: DI Jack Lennon.

gripping
loved this book, listened in one day whilst busy in the allotment. Really enjoyed the plot. I thought the main characters were really interesting and understandable.

Jerky narration
I just couldn't get into the story or feel for the characters as the narrator speaks in the 5 second format making the speech and descriptive text feel jerky. I found myself counting the beat. Sorry but it was a good story spoiled.

listen with patience
Good series of 4 books, this being the last. The first 3 narrators were very good but the narrator for this book pauses after every sentence for 2 to 3 seconds and to be blunt there were more than a few times I felt like shouting "hurry up". When I started to listen I thought he was doing it for effect, but then it persisted and I found I was counting the seconds between and at times I missed what he was saying. If you can get past this annoyance its a really good book.
