It’s become, he explains, perfectly acceptable to celebrate the contributions of non-Western cultures, but discussing their flaws and crimes is called hate speech. What’s more it has become acceptable to discuss the flaws and crimes of Western culture, but celebrating their contributions is also called hate speech.

Some nice advice but a bit America centric
There were some useful facts and tips about the development of the baby and preparation. However, the focus on the medical costs and resources was designed for a US audience. I actually read this just to follow along with my husband and we were also amused at the excessive concern around dealing with crazy pregnant women and how not to offend them. These did not reflect our experience at all. If you communicate well with your partner this should not be an issue.

Very USA centred advice
The book provides plenty of helpful advice for all expectant dads. However, in all technical aspects from finance, health insurance to shopping advice, it is very US centred and of little use for those outside the United States. I enjoyed listening to it in most parts, where the information was relevant to the UK or becoming a dad in general.

Big claims, big opinions, big red flags
Let me just say the book is filled with great facts, but that's about as far as it goes.
Throughout the entire book, what is decided as important is cited as usually no more than the word "studies" and absolutely reeks of causation is not correlation (ironically the book does even reference the existence of this concept, but only when the "studies" don't support the hypothethis.
It reads like one of those clickbait articles - that mix in established fact, with opinions. The author is clearly pro-religion, pro-circumcision, and straight up links to one of those incel type mens rights activism websites - that are more about being anti-women, than pro-equality - these opinions frequently seep into the contents of the book.
I'm not going to repeat anything I learned in this book to anyone, cause there are just too many red flags ascociated with it. Oh also, (I'm not american so this didn't apply to me), there is a sad chapter full of financial advice and how to take advantage of tax loopholes that is hugely questionable lol.

Good enough
Good enough. It's full of useful information based upon academic research. It's a tad "America-centric" though, focusing a lot on medical costs (as a Spaniard, I don't know what that is) or "dads on military deployment".

Disappointing and highly USA-centric
There’s no denying that this book contains some useful information, but overall, I feel let down.
The first circa two hours are spent discussing various methods of conception and pregnancy costs, supplemented with anecdotal stories from the authors life, which I felt were misplaced in an ‘expectant father’ book.
Moreover, I felt there was a sustained subtle undertone of arrogance surrounding the authors ‘model’ pregnancy experience, and how excited and close it made he and his wife, something that perhaps not all couples experience.

Great general information and guidance
A good general guide on what to expect during pregnancy. As a UK based reader, this book is full of US centric information, lots of reference to military Dad's, US medical procedures and options and financial references to US relevant schemes (college funds and 401ks etc) obviously it wasn't written for a UK audience and whilst the information is still relevant overall, you may find 25% of this book you wanna skip through

Fantastic book but pdf missing.
I highly recommend getting this book in some form. Well written with relevant information and none of the demeaning or juvenile humor that often overpowers these types of books. The only problem (and it is a significant one) is that the author often references the PDF that accompanies the book and there is no pdf. I will probably get the print version so I have all the information.
Update, the PDF cannot be found on the audible app. It is in the audible library on the computer. While this is better than no PDF, it is inconvenient when you are trying to look up questions to ask when interviewing doctors.

Probably written for the wife.
This book is full of crank ideas based almost entirely on single studies and seems to rely on correlation, not science, to make suggestions. I lost it when he suggested swallowing semen helps prevent preeclampsia, and smelling farts lower blood pressure.
Honestly, the way this guy approaches the subject, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he was anti-vaxx or something. It's unhelpful and useless.

Useful, but less to non-USA readers.
A lot of information useful only for USA residents, such as tax or insurance. Too many mentions to studies which, in my opinion, mean nothing or are very debatable, such as "Babies with names starting with D have a 5% more probability of becoming dentists" and the like...

Straddles Between Textbook and Storybook
The book read more like a series of facts/information more so than a story or a persons take on fatherhood. I loved how informative it was, but I could only listen to it in about 3 hour chunks or I would start to get a bit of information overload. Still great though since it covers just about everything in great detail. I'd recommend it for sure.

I loved this book. It quelled many fears of mine and introduced new challenges I never realized were headed my way. More importantly I imlreased my wife not only by simply reading the book but by sharing my learnings with her.
Mr. Brott has a gentle and humorous delivery that felt grandfatherly.

Great advice
Excellent intro to pregnancy. Most of the advice is given with an objective POV and there isn't a lot of fear mongering. The authors sincerely want to help and the book was written with both a male and female perspectives so it's not too one sided. This was the first parenting/pregnancy book I listened to and I listened to it in almost one sitting on a Florida to Colorado road trip. To expectant fathers, take what advice sounds good to you and take advice from a. few sources. To the author's, thanks for a great book, you have soothed a lot of my anxiety.
