Summary

ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disease) is a common emotional and behavioral disorder that can disrupt a child's academic and social functioning. ADHD is characterized by inattention, impulsivity, and motor activity that are developmentally inappropriate. Within an educational setting, children with attention problems form a unique group with a wide range of demands. What a fantastic audiobook!

This is an excellent book to have if you're seeking to comprehend unusual kids. Learn how to aid your ADHD youngster in getting control of themselves. This book will teach you how to teach your youngster how to calm themselves and redirect themselves.

Great book for all parents

The abilities that parents require to effectively handle these children are vast and fully discussed. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. As a parent of a child with ADHD, it has put things into perspective for me and given me a lot to think about. I really love this book, it's a masterpiece. I strongly recommend it to all parents.

Very good piece of work

This guide is all that a parent could ask for in terms of monitoring the development of a child. I wish I could have this book in an audio version so I could listen to the content time and time again. I appreciate the author for a job well done. I know how demanding studying kids can be, which is one of the reasons why many parents are still not aware of the state of their child. With this priceless book, parenting has been made easy and the burden of helping children with ADHD is lightened. Even though I don’t have a child with attention deficit, I’m sure to have learnt ways to teach parents who do to control it.

This is an amazing little audiobook!

When I look back and observe how much I’ve been ignorant of what ADHD means, I can only appreciate the much effort put into the publishing of this book. The information could only come from a person who is fully devoted to child development and one who’s had a vast experience interfacing with several categories of kids with varying syndromes of a deficit hyperactivity disorder

Change of mindset

The thing i loved about this book is not so much the strategies, but the change of mindset that dr. jennie leaf instilled in my head. I now deal with problems with my children in a completely different way, I am more relaxed and can enjoy my time with them more.

Great for a 101 lit review.

1. The author is overly devoted to the idea that this is a disorder/disability. While I am very aware that having a variable attention trait is a burden in the context of our square and exasperating society, I feel that focusing on the Disorder/Disease aspect is merely adding to the negativity. If you are writing this to help us parents, and individuals who are well and truly diagnosed with a difference in attention, please be positive! It is hard enough dealing with these schools and friends and doctors without turning to books that literally call this a disease. Reframe please! Very old fashioned!

2. Where were the interventions to help me understand how to get a kid to think before he acts? How did I just listen, entirely focused on this book, for 45 minutes, and still have no idea how to get a get to think before he acts. I am thoroughly informed (AGAIN) of how intensely important it is, and how much it will affect the kid's life. Perhaps I just don't need another Lit Review on this. I am seeking direct intervention skills and advice.

3. Reading is not great. Weird pauses make me think I have a technology issue, over an over. And mispronunciations?!
