Marry a man I barely know to save my family from ruin. It might’ve been simple, if my betrothed were anybody else. On our wedding day, my husband-to-be arrived at the courthouse like a black cloud rolling over Manhattan. Summary
He’s about to propose to the woman of his dreams, when he meets the love of his life.
As a successful neurosurgeon about to propose to his gorgeous girlfriend, Ryan Harper has the perfect life. When his sister and brother-in-law die in a tragic car accident, he suddenly becomes a single dad to his orphaned niece and nephews. A 60-hour workweek with a houseful of children is a lot to juggle, and he desperately needs help.
When Destiny Brown finds herself out of work, she takes a job as a temporary live-in nanny. Despite her lack of experience, she’s certain she can handle four kids. Fighting her attraction to her handsome boss, however, is going to require some extra training.
While all his spare time should be on connecting with his girlfriend, Destiny’s love and devotion to his family is working its way into his heart. Every conversation, every interaction, every heated glance across the table, might be a step closer to his destiny - until his best friend starts pursuing Destiny.
Ryan can do one of two things: confess his feelings to his employee, or suffer in silence and let fate take its course.

Great Christian romance
I have listened to a few books by this author, previously I wasn’t wowed but enjoyed the gentle stories. This story was so much better, it had depth and the characters really felt like they had strong personalities. I felt emotionally invested and thoroughly enjoyed listening to this. I definitely recommend!

Awful stereotype
I wanted to like this book. I couldn’t get past the first few chapters. I hated the main female character. She was written as a poor, uneducated, black woman who was clueless, and always late. As a black woman I am offended by this. The character was clueless about people eating salad over a sandwich as if this was the first time she’d ever seen it. She gushed over getting in a new car like it was the most amazing thing ever. I wish I could have gotten a refund. This is the first time I’ve ever written a negative review. I’m so disappointed in this book.

Family comes in all shapes and sizes
Destiny was orphaned at the age of 12 and has always longed for a family to belong to. As a new Christian, she has found a lightness of spirit she never knew was possible before.
Ryan is a single doctor who suddenly became a father of four when his twin sister died unexpectedly. He can't figure out why God would allow his sister to die when her children need her so much.
As Destiny helps Ryan and the kids heal, Ryan teaches her what it means to be a family; but not without a few bumps along the way.
I enjoyed the sweet exploration of a new relationship between two very different people who complement one another in perfect ways.

Loved this!
I loved this story! This is a sweet, clean and fun read. It shows just how much family can rely on each other and what they will do for one another. I enjoyed the faith that is portrayed in this story, not preachy, just subtle reminders. The nanny sounded like so much fun, and she truly loved the children and had their best interests at heart. While mishaps came up, and certainly there were some times full of suspense, it all ended up well.
I think the narrator did a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life and making you feel like you were a part of the story,
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, however, I am voluntarily leaving this review.

Excellent presentation of a good book
I feel the book was excellent but have objections to the final two dramatic crisis of the book. The icey lake incident and it’s resolution and the failure of tact by Ryan should have come earlier in the book before they finally admitted their love. The latter incident with Ryan treating her as an employee after he was engaged to her, I would have left out all together. This really tanked my opinion of him. This is a problem with the editing of the original book but does not detract from the excellent performance.

Nice Story, Mediocre Audiobook
The story is wonderful. It drew me in from the start and kept a nice flow throughout. I enjoyed the parallels in the storyline and the challenges were very believable. Nice HEA to boot.
The narration was mediocre. It lacked variation and was difficult to know who the speaker was at time. While the was inflection, there was no change to pitch for the various characters.
Overall I’d recommend the book verses the audio.

creating a family
Ryan and Destiny have both suffered loss. She has the best attitude and I love that she puts her trust and faith in the Lord. His niece and nephews brought them into each other's lives. The children made the story and I really liked reading about their making a connection with Destiny. Ryan has a girlfriend and I was concerned about cheating but there isn't any. Of course there is angst and I was afraid but the author did a great job in bringing us a hea. Awesome ending. I absolutely loved the narrator and thought she did an amazing job. This book is one I will keep and listen to again.

Sweet contemporary romance
I loved Destiny and Ryan. They were a cute couple. It was a longer story. I think it could have been shorter, but I really enjoyed it. I don’t always like Christian romances but I think the author found a good mix. Ryan was a bit of a jerk toward the end but I think he redeemed himself. I was surprised at how long it took him to admit his feelings but I can understand he was in a difficult situation.
