About this listen

A hardworking tobacco farmer in the Carolina Uplands, Justin Harris wants only to provide for his family. The outbreak of revolution turns his life upside down, and he cannot anticipate how even his seemingly most inconsequential actions will touch the lives of generations yet to come. Through crushing setbacks and hard-won victories, Justin's perseverance serves as a gift to his descendants.

Learning History Through Stories

This is a well written account of a time in American history just prior to the declaration of independence from the British. The characters and situations are well described as we move between the present and the past. Narration is ideally paced to allow the listener to fully comprehend the narrative without being slow. A very entertaining and informative listen.
