About this listen

WARNING: May contain Egyptian gods, werewolves, power armor, and a world-ending apocalypse

A pyramid predating all known cultures appears without warning. Its discovery throws into question everything we know about the origins of mankind.

Inside lies incredible technology, proof of a culture far more advanced than our own. Something dark lurks within, eager to resume a war as old as mankind. When it is unleashed it heralds the end of our species’ reign.

A plague of werewolves spreads across the world. A sunspot larger than anything in recorded history begins to grow. Yet both pale in comparison to the true threat, the evil the werewolves were created to fight.

"It's like Indiana Jones went through the Stargate and ended up in Aliens versus Predator." (One of the author's totally biased friends)

This collection gathers No Such Thing as Werewolves, No Mere Zombie, Vampires Don't Sparkle, and The Great Pack.

Not what I expected

The last time I made a review one of Chris’s series I regret what I said. While the guy is a good storyteller he is absolutely ingenious with his ideas and thinking. This is the 3rd complete series I’ve listen to by him and to be honest, he comes up with truly unique ideas which in this day is so hard...but back to the series :) I thought the book was going to be about zombies and werewolves, but there is so much more the storytelling is phenomenally, it’s a long listen but well worth the adventure.

Awesome read

Absolutely brilliant writing from beginning to end. For most of my life I have adored Egyptology and any stories about werewolves, vampires etc. This collection is so good it got a rare recommendation for my family to read it. Well done Chris Fox you are one of my favourite authors now.

Brilliant!

I do not say this lightly but this is one of the best series I have listened to and I cannot believe it is not all over the place.
The idea is pure genius, I have not found something this original since Stargate.
The basic idea is so original, managing to turn werewolves and other non-spoiling creatures into SciFi is really a feat.
The writing is very good, characters are solid. Only a few places were things get facepalmy.

Each book is different in feel and I love that. The 1'st one is a mystery, the 2'nd is a zombie apocalypses and the 3'rd is a perfect Homeric epic. Still listening to the last book but it is again something else,

Loved this story

This was not at all the story I was expecting. The clever way the author weaves mythology through out is gripping.
The narrator did a great job bringing the story to life.
I would highly recommend

One of the best stories I ever came across

I absolutely loved this books I couldn't get enough of it.
I love the characters, the story, the way that ancient mythology and ancient history is interweaved, the pace of the story, the arch of the characters and the relationship between them, I mean...
It was a real delight to let myself lose in this world, all of it.
The narrator does an extraordinary job not only telling the story but giving the characters their unique voice to the point that you already know who's speaking before ( X said or Y said shows up ).
All in all if you want to enjoy almost 55h of pure escapism and delight these are the books to go.

Totally Unexpected!

To be honest, it took me a short while into the first book to 'get into it' so to speak but that was principally because it appeared to be a genre of SciFi/Fantasy that I initially didn't think was 'my thing'.
As the story progressed I found myself thoroughly absorbed and the rich character base and their variations added so much colour and detail.
I do tend to shout at American Narrator's because of their pronunciation of the English language but for some like Ryan K Burke, his narration and voice is essentially pleasing to the ear so it matters not.
Excellent all round and I'll be listening to more in this Saga.
