Summary

There were two things seriously wrong when someone found Mr Meredith in the library of Ornum House and greeted him with a ‘Good morning’. For one thing, it was five o’clock in the afternoon; and for another, the greeting took the form of a murderous blow to the back of poor Mr Meredith’s head.

But Inspector Sloan doesn’t discover any of this until he finds the weapon, a large primitive club, topped with an iron spike. It is hanging in Lord Ornum’s armoury, labelled ‘Godentag’ which, as the Vicar explains, taken literally means good morning.

Very intricate story that keeps you guessing.

He performance was very good and the story line keeps you thinking of different possible outcomes.

Robin Bailey brings this to life!

A good yarn, well-written and exquisitely read by Robin Bailey, whose characterisation is superb. The detective story keeps you guessing until the end. Very enjoyable indeed.

Beautifully read -old style murder story.

Loved the story particularly being read by Robin Bailey, who ably covered a panoply of characters.
Chapter 11, with the press conference, is so clever when you stop to remember it is being read by one person.
Catherine Aird writes a good mystery and Sloan and Crosby are a good pairing, with their evening class attending boss back at the station providing caustic input.
Well worth a listen.

Drawn out story with expressionless reader. Bored me stiff.

Robin Bailey is the most boring reader and runs sentences on disgracefully. Rather read book
