Summary
Thank You, Jeeves is the first novel to feature the incomparable valet Jeeves and his hapless charge Bertie Wooster - and you've hardly started when he resigns over Bertie's dedicated but somewhat untuneful playing of the banjo. In high dudgeon, Bertie disappears to the country as a guest of his chum Chuffy - only to find his peace shattered by the arrival of his ex-fiancée Pauline Stoker, her formidable father and the eminent loony-doctor Sir Roderick Glossop.
When Chuffy falls in love with Pauline and Bertie seems to be caught in flagrante, a situation boils up which only Jeeves (whether employed or not) can simmer down...A display of sustained comic brilliance, this novel shows Wodehouse rising to the top of his game.

Of its time
This is not a book for those offended by racist language. it was written in a time when the use of words such as negro was considered normal. It also discusses blacking ups a way if disguise. However, if you accept this as a book of its time, it's a good, light hearted read.
Personally, I love Wodehouse, but it's not for everyone.

laugh out loud funny
there aren't many books I genuinely lol at but this book had me in tears of laughter. the narrator does an outstanding job and I really do feel his reading made the humour that much more enjoyable. time for me to get all other books in the series now!

A Joy
An absolute joy to listen to. Woodhouse's words and Cecil's narration combine to produce a magical evocation of the wonderful world of Jeeves and Wooster.

A most delightful listening experience
I have listened to several books by Wodehouse.
They are all smartly thought out, very well written
and wonderfully read by Jonathan Cecil. Yet this one is my favorite so far. There is not a single dull moment.

perfect upper class twits ....
Written in the 20's the humour still works today, maybe even more so? Jonathan Cecil is a master at delivering the original story, bouncing from character to character with graceful ease. In these strange times, immersing yourself in the daft world of upper class twits is simple, perfect escapism.

wonderful
First time reading/hearing P.G.Wodehouse. i think he is unique in his genre.Perhaps it appeals to a certain age where the language used adds a certain nostagia what today has completely passed away with so much of the decency that this book reminds one of or is it off ? I shall look forward to my next listen.

Excellent classic J&W long story
Another brilliant long story from Wodehouse. Hilarious madcap caper in the countryside. Excellently performed by Cecil. (Note, contains historic use of “negro” adjective and features white men ‘blacking up’)
