Summary
The Gate drive is trashed; the locals are hostile; and the crew has run out of beer.
The galaxy has chewed up the Reynolds and spit it out. The search is on for the raw materials to make the parts they need to fix the ship. Who can stand up to the superdreadnought in a no-name galaxy at the edge of the universe? It’s looking grim for a group hug, leaving the captain and crew with the choice of fight, flight, or diplomacy.
Board the Reynolds and join the crew in their struggle to get home.

great endings are the best
love this series. humor, frightening aliens, and a powerful dreadnought. what more can one ask for? accidentally thrown a billion light-years off course through a freak of nature, the crew of the Reynolds must find a way home - to Earth. but freaky mold and fascinating aliens get in the way. this is worth the journey to experience how the crew becomes family. and Phil Thron never disappoints in his ever so great narration. well done.

Captivating with humor
The overall series is about an AI that has flaws but learns. Along the way the author throws in humor at the right moments. The story is told through the eyes of the AI whose mission is to rub out an enemy of his Queen. I have listened to all of the books and it is a worthy series that will keep you interested. Phil Thron is really good.

A series of short stories, NOT a novel
This is a series of short stories, NOT a novel. Like watching a couple episodes of Star Trek rather than a movie. Each one self contained and simple. I like the series but this was more of a placeholder and had no story arc at all. *spoiler alert* The whole book can be summed up as, "they took the long way to go home but got there. The end".
