Summary

Summerhill is a dog with a problem: He isn't exactly sure who he is. Living alone in a desolate world as its only inhabitant, he has no memories of his previous life - only the tantalizing clue that the answers he seeks may lie with a mysterious woman named Katherine, the hostess on a cruise ship that sails between dimensions.

But Katherine has problems of her own, and if Summerhill wants her help in unlocking the secrets of his past, he'll have to help Katherine deal with hers.

Together the two will travel to different worlds, different times, and different universes in a journey where the possible and impossible can be tough to separate, and where the rules of reality can change as easily as weather.

Please note: This time-travel story intentionally includes chapter numbers out of sequence. It begins with Chapter 2.

A wonderfully inventive science fiction adventure

This was a wonderfully inventive science fiction adventure, spanning across time and space. The characters and locales were fresh and creative. The narrator did an excellent job portraying the various characters.

DId I miss the ending?

This is more of an involved Dr. Who style of story then your normal l sci-fi/fantasy type. It ask a lot of questions, and jumps around looking for answers. I loved it. It's not exactly hard to follow, but you really have to pay attention. Get distracted for 20 seconds and you always miss something important. My back 30 second button has never been used so much before.
My big issue with the book is it feel unfinished. Like it was just 2/3 of a book. I was really looking forward to getting some answers and the entire book we dropping hints and adding back story and really building up to a major reveal of everything. I was so looking forward to it, and I didn't get the answers I wanted.
Some people might like the open ended style of ending, but I prefer when stuff is rapped up more.
If there was a second book to close out the story, I would buy it in a second.

A nice read, but definitely not worth $20+

This is fanfiction levels of storytelling. That's not to disparage the story or the narrator; in fact, I consume a lot of fanfics like this. But $20+? Yes we all have to eat, but I hope that's split three-way between the author, narrator, and publisher.

Story is quite good; contains lots of descriptions you can get lost in. A bit more world building could have been done; but then again, this seems to be an adventure novel directed to teenage Americans, and a lot of them find that boring.

Narrator is definitely better than TTS. But as you can surmise, that's a very low bar to surpass. I think he can only do at most two distinct character voices. He's not too bad a narrator, but I believe he can practice more.

Overall, treat this as a fanfic you read to wind down. Don't expect too much depth, because you'll be disappointed.

That said, this has potential. I wouldn't mind a sequel.

Mind Blowing. I keep coming back to this book .

I loved it. My mind's eye is open and staring in awe at the wonders in these Chronicles. I truly hope there are many many sequels with Summerhill. Eighth time I've listened to this.

Holy cow

This book was phenomenal. I've always loved the nerrator's work, then combine it with a book I personally think rivels books like the Great Gatsby in terms of storyline (actually way better, I didn't like The Great Gatsby) and you get a great book. I almost cried, I yelled out in anger, and felt pain for this character. I definitely recommend

What's a time traveling doggo?

A big ol' dimension jumping pupper!

Summerhill uses the same story mechanics as Dr Who or Rick and Morty, but in its own way. You will be transported to many magical places in your mind as you listen. It's a great book, highly recommend.
