Summary

Trevor

In most packs, an Omega, even one who couldn't breed, was treasured and would be revered and protected, not cast aside. But our pack was not like most packs, and I was not like most Omegas. I was human, so I understood why I was being sent to the auction. I didn't like it, but I understood it. Even if there had been affection for me, even if they had been willing to keep me as a pet (neither of these was the case, but an Omega could dream), Cal couldn't afford not to sell me.

Clint

Omegas were hard to come by worldwide. While I would have preferred to mate for love, it didn't seem that it was in the cards for me. I had taken over as pack Alpha five years earlier, and it was high time that I started adding to the pack population. Granted my pack is run less rigidly than some; the Betas in my pack are not just allowed to breed but actively encouraged to. Unfortunately, only a small number of Beta females are fertile enough to get pregnant, and I'll be damned if I am going to hump my way through the pack until I find the ones who are - which brought me full circle to why I was standing in line to pick up the bidding paddle at the auction house.

Less even than a marriage of convenience, purchasing an Omega at the auction was more of a long-term service contract, a means to an end, so what was an Alpha to do when he found his soul mate on the auction block?

Mpreg & Knotting!

Any additional comments?

There’s knotting and Mpreg in this series!! I’m so happy!

I liked the story, especially how sweet and understanding Clint was with Trevor, and look forward to continuing the series.

The narration though…had issues. From the audible intake of air for many sentences to the sometimes lilting way Collins would finish a sentence at times, making it seem like it was a question…while I kind of got used to both after a while, ultimately I didn’t think this was even close to Collins’ best work.

If someone was interested in Paranormal stories with excellent audio by Collins I’d steer them towards Charlie Cochet’s THIRDS series (under his Mark Westfield brand).

Short mpreg shifter story

This is a very short, very sweet mpreg shifter story and the first in the series. It is like one of the better Siren books and has enough of a story not to be PWP. Pretty predictable and not a lot happens, but it But I hope we see the couple in other books as it ends abruptly with what I consider a HFN. I also had to deduct a star for the narrator. Although I have enjoyed his narration in other books, there was a very noticeable intake of breath throughout this book that was VERY annoying and really distracted me from enjoying the story. Also, some of his dialogue came out as whiney instead of "soft spoken" which is what I think he intended. It annoyed me enough that if I continue this series, I'll probably read the ebooks.

The narrator is absolutely frustrating!

This narrator has a lot of potential but the inflections he adds to the end of each word drove me crazy! I'm 5 minutes in and can't take any more.

ok story.......narrator did it no favors

I enjoy a good shifter mm Romance or story. I think this one would have been better served if I had read it and not chosen the audio version. I could never really get into the story because of the Singsong delivery that the narrator used. most sentences ended with a question even if it wasn't a question and the last word or two of every sentence was almost sung. so while I like the story for the most part I just couldn't enjoy it because I chose the audio version instead of reading it.

Narration is awful

Story is ok but narration kills it. The speech pattern drives me crazy. Not only is it bad but it's the same for all of the characters.

horrible

the narrator was horrible. took half the 1st chapter to realize the character was supposed to be female? then again in this story the males get pregnant to so maybe it wasn't. I gave up on it early in.

Story is entertaining but acting was terrible

I had a very hard time finishing this book. The plot was alright, entertaining enough and sexy, but the actor's performance was annoying. The characters' voices were not easily recognizable, and the intonation was distracting. The characters sounded more like frat boys doing a commercial than actual people. I sped up the narration just to get it over with. I would recommend reading the story by itself.

A Nice Escape...

Though the whole idea of mpreg is something that I have yet to wrap my mind around, I found this story to be really entertaining and sweet. The relationship between Clint and Trevor was very sweet and tender. The one thing that I did wonder as I listened to this story was the history that made up the characters of Clint and Trevor. Though briefly addressed, for Trevor, I think that this could have been a more in-depth story. But with that, I liked it and I am looking forward to reading the next installment in the series. By the time I am finished understanding Omega's, the concept of mpreg will be instilled into my brain! In spite of the negative reviews about the narrator, I felt Alexander Collins did a great job. A nice escape from reality...
