Summary

The most uplifting story of the summer - about Andrew, who has forgotten how to live, and Peggy, who helps him remember....

MEET ANDREW.

Everybody likes Andrew. But they don't really know him.

They know what he's told them - that he's happily married with two kids. Living the kind of life that's either so boring it's true, or so perfect it's a lie....

ENTER PEGGY.

Peggy arrives in Andrew's life in a burst of kindness and possibility. For the first time in ages, Andrew feels alive again. So now that he has everything to lose, can he risk it all and tell Peggy the truth?

A big-hearted story about love, loneliness and the importance of taking a chance when we feel we have the most to lose.

A joyously emotional read that’s full of fun

Just what I needed after subjecting myself to some heavy reading from my list during lockdown. This may sound like a derogatory term but the phrase chicklit for men comes to mind. I don’t even know if that is a thing but it’s what it felt like. Not to say that’s it’s all fluff. There are some genuinely emotional moments and important themes in this book. But I also found myself laughing out loud and wanting to get back to these characters. Highly recommended.

Unique and heartwarming

I really enjoyed this book. The narrator is so easy to listen to, which meant I couldn't put it down. A unique and heartwarming story.

Great story, great narration

I downloaded this originally based purely on the narrator as I consider him one of the very best in the business, but I found a really well told story with engaging characters. Funny yet poignant with just the right amount of all The right ingredients.
Lovely stuff

The haunting honesty is when it's tough.

Love this book from beginning to end. There is moments when Andree talks and feels, the sort if feelings you only share with your closest friend.

Bad narration

I managed about 30 minutes but couldn't get past the terribly irritating narration.

It's overly 'acted' rather than read and the cadence is off with jarring long pauses.

It's the spoken equivalent of 'comic sans'.

Gave story 3 stars as rating is mandatory, but I have no idea.

Just couldn't get into this one

Absolutely struggled with this from the off... the narration was completely off key and broken ... I just couldn't get into it due to the reading. I will try reading the book in hard copy as the story and settings sound as though it should be entertaining, but that narration !! sorry

Not for me

The narrator is very irritating and I couldn't get passed chapter 5. Found the storyline dull, so not for me
