Summary

Is someone dangerous out to get her? Or is it all in her mind?

Becky’s life is almost perfect. Growing up, she could never have imagined living in such a safe, beautiful home, with a boyfriend as loving and kind as Alex, and hopes for a little family of her own. But then stand-offish Max moves in next door, and things begin to fall apart.

First, someone starts trolling her social media. Then she finds her tyres slashed. By the time she discovers the dead bird, left waiting for her like a prize, she’s sure someone is after her. And having spied some strange goings-on beyond her kitchen window, she suspects that person is Max.

Frightened, Becky turns to Alex for help, but she’s surprised to find that he and Max have become firm friends—and that Alex is convinced it’s all in her mind. But when news of a missing young woman breaks, Becky knows she has to do something. She’s sure she’s seen this woman in Max’s home—hasn’t she?

With Alex concerned that she’s losing her grip on reality, does Becky dare keep digging, knowing her almost-perfect life could shatter into imperfect little pieces?

Critic reviews

“The kind of superb psychological thriller I love to read. Fast paced, fine writing, with more tension than a high-wire tightrope. I couldn't look away!” (Dan Malakin, best-selling author of The Box and The Regret)

“Zoe Rosi’s taut domestic thriller is addictive reading. A roller-coaster debut.” (Susannah Wise, best-selling author of This Fragile Earth and Okay Then That's Great)

Someone's Watching Me will leave you breathless. With an unexpected twist, it is an intense and fast-paced read, the paranoia perfectly orchestrated by Rosi.” (Sophia Spiers, author of The Call of Cassandra Rose)

Horrible

This book had such potential.
But very quickly I realized the entire story is just this woman going on and on as such a victim.
There is no true character development, there is no atmosphere set, there is no tension or mystery.
The only mystery to me is “why am I listening to this dribble still?”
Don’t waste your time or a credit on this book.
The summary is the best part.
The book is horrible….

Started off so well...

...but when we find out what's going on, it's sooo disappointing. I cant say very much without giving away the storyline but the end really ruins the book for me. The narrators voice is very high pitched which also make the main female character come across as a bit pathetic.

A stunning and bittersweet twist!

Zoe Rosi sets up a brilliant thriller with a stunning and bittersweet twist you won’t see coming! It’s worth every penny or credit if you use credits.

This is an enjoyable psychological thriller with many very relatable events and characters intertwined in the story.

The lead character is very likable and down-to-earth.

Surprisingly, the unexpected ending demonstrates the power and freedom of forgiveness and how it can set you free in the most unexpected ways.

Well done Zoe! And magnificent narration by Esther!

I Just Can't Handle Anymore

Apparently many have liked this book, I just can't read any farther. The amount of stressful situations at the beginning of this rather slow book is too hard to read/listen to. It's like watching a car accident ongoing and not being able to stop it. Not for me.

Okay. I actually listened from start to finish..

..and this is why I've rated this book with 2 stars rather than 1. The characters are either unrealistically neurotic, weak, willfully dense and/or outright unlikable. "How dare you/he/she!" (Seriously?! 🙄) And "Kiss kiss kiss" - every tm ends with "kiss": cringe. Becky's voice is so shrill, it could grate carrots. The plot is far-fetched. No spoilers here.
