Summary

Magic, mysteries, monsters, and mayhem. A new world awaits....

Finding herself in a strange new realm, in a sleek new body not her own, Nikole must learn to survive fast. She quickly befriends an elite healer and his masterfully skilled crew, hoping to find safety in numbers.

But bigger problems lurk on the horizon than just monsters of the wild. This new world is on the brink of war.

Nikole, whose main starting skill is...well...being unskilled, is forced to take on a role far larger than she’s comfortable with. She’s torn between helping her new friends and a desperate desire to go home.

How could anyone so ordinary be expected to do such great things?

Don't miss the start of an exciting new LitRPG Series from Stephanne Payne. Elvish archers, mages, and more...what else could a listener want?

Enjoyable listen

Not your standard LitRPG but a good story nevertheless, and if you like cats & dogs, some minor chuckles were had.

Good start to the series

I enjoyed the book, it was a bit explain-y to start with but I loved the dragons that were people who thought for themselves. I adored the unicorn, that was very well done!
The book finished very solidly, no cliffhangers here and I'm interested to see where the story goes now.

“What in the name of Dante’s mine hells is that?”

A great start to the series! Really good story with some great characters and excellent narration! I can’t wait to see where the series goes next.
This is my honest opinion on a free review copy.

A really good example of the genre

This story doesn't try to disguise its gamer origins. the ocean would make a good game scenario, perhaps it already has?

Good characters, and something of an anti-discrimination subtext:-)

Loved the narration, a lively intonation with enough accents and tonal variation for the various characters. I never felt confused about whichever charatee was speaking - which isn't always the case with audio books.
