Summary
Book four of The Realms. Continuing the epic LitRPG series begun in Barrow King.
Gryph would give his life for his sister but saving her could cost him his soul.
Gryph entered the Realms with one mission, to save his sister Brynn. He didn’t want friends. He didn’t want responsibilities. He didn’t want to care. But even the best-laid plans go awry, and after escaping a sentient dungeon and defeating a would-be world conqueror, Gryph is no closer to finding Brynn.
Then, while mourning the tragic death of a friend and grappling with the burdens of leadership, an ally, thought long dead, returns offering the slimmest of hopes.
This hope takes Gryph and his friends on a journey through strange lands where they must outwit a mystical crime syndicate, evade an infallible bounty hunter and face-off against Brynn herself, now a goddess with no memory of her true self.
Gryph must triumph over them all. If he fails, both he and his sister will not only lose their lives, they will lose their souls.

Great Twist
The author introduces some interesting new mechanics and delivers another compelling story with the great characters we have come to enjoy. Narrator did a good job portraying such a vast roster of people in a convincing way.
Lots of anticipation for the next book!

unexpected ending
c.m. carney brought more twists and turns to the table, with Armen Taylor expertly narrating the story bring the characters to life, just when we thought we would see an end to the story, it gets a new twist of intrigue and life!

Keeps getting better
Probably the best so far, as we start the story with a reunion of griff and lex which truly are a great combo. A lot story progression as we start the adventure against the fake gods.

Bad accents and terrible "jokes" make this a flop
I'm regretting my commitment to this series after the yawn fest that was book 3.
This was book 4 and it's supposed to be humorous. Perhaps it appeals to a different audience than me, I didn't laugh once, didn't even snort. It's like being in the company of a group of people who think they're funny and none of them are.
Armen Taylor is not good at delivering humour, so maybe the book is a funny read. But even worse than Armen's terrible attempts at making the story humorous is his atrocious dwarven accents. The Scotsman in me wanted to burst my ear drums, uurgh! Don't get me wrong he's a good narrator, just not good at delivering the "humour" (for want of a better term) or dwarven/Scottish accents.
Story is good but would have been much improved if the attempts at infantile humour and the cringeworthy party bonding scenes, which were over done and over long, were reduced or removed.
Books 1 and 2 were ok but this was like eating a badly cooked dessert after an excellent starter and main.

Scourge of Boredom!
Once again I find myself at the end of a fantastic novel from the Realms series and this makes me sad. I don't want it to end!
As I've mentioned before, the combination of the writing and the quality of narration creates a fascinating performance that is impossible to turn off. I recommend this to anyone!

The dwarf accents are painful attempt at Scottish accent that made me cringe every time
