Author seems to have given up.
Long story with some questions and conflicts raised being all wrapped up in the last chapter with one character revealing all of the answers in literally one monologue. The last scene in the epilogue was just taken very near verbatim from an extremely popular movie in 1981.
Ridiculous cartoonish portrayals of Americans matched by equally cartoonish American accents by the narrarator.

narration didnt help the story
I was wondering where this story was going, and was happy when it finally ended. The narration was poor. The narrator had a nice voice, but he often sounded bored. His cadence often didn't match what he was reading, as if he didn't know the emotional content of the story, and therefore didn't properly convey the content through the storytelling. Definitely not going to listen to any more of this series.

Fascinating story.
I really enjoyed the series of books. The narrator was excellent and the storyline and characters were very well developed. Unfortunately, I found out to late that I would never really know the conclusion of the story because of the untimely death of the author.
I wish audible.com would have alerted me that this is an incomplete series. While I understand the parents of the deceased will attempt to complete book 7 and 8 audible.com readers should have been given the option if they wish to commit time and money to this particular series.

When the narrator merely reads …
Despite listening for a few hours, I have zero clues as to what this book is about. The “narrator” is a mere reader and puts nothing but British Received Standard elocution into the words written in the script. There aren’t identifiable characters in his recitation. This muddles the premise and plot so much that this audiobook
doesn’t even work as a sleep aid.
