Summary

Cocky and self-assured, I’m confident when it comes to my skills both on stage and in the bedroom. Everything in my life is perfect, even if I am the last single man standing in our famed rock band.

But it wasn’t always this way.

Jayla knew me before I hit it big. Back when I was a skinny teen, chasing dreams without a penny to my name. Now she’s back in my life and so much more than the girl I remember. Fiercely loyal. Beautiful and badass. She walked out of my life before, and I won’t let that happen again.

They say some songs are better on the second take, and if there’s one thing I know for sure, this is our time for a replay.

The books in the Off Track Records series are interconnected stand-alone romance novels and can be listened to in any order.

Detour: Trent and Lexi's story

Derail: Sean and Jess' story

Hinder: Leighton and Opal's story

Replay: Austin and Jayla's story

This story will replay in your heart

Book 4 in the series. Written by USA today author Kacey Shea.
Hero is Austin. Heroine is Jayla. Loved how Kacey Shae wrote a strong Heroine. Kacey wrote this story that will appeal to everyone. Every race and a true romantic. It’s the first in a series that it’s about a BWWM and it’s a story that will grab you. It has lots of twits and turns , an ending that will blow your mind. It will keep you on your seat till the very end , with lots of twists and turns.
What happens when Austin, the player, the playboy of 3UG meets Jayla , his best friend from his teenage years . You will be routing for the couple .

Loved how the bonus epilogue shows all the 3UG with everything that will bring you a smile so big it will lite your mouth

Jason and Morae performance is fantastic m they brought the story to life . They made you feel like you were in the story.

All is good and complete in the 3UG world

I have been looking forward to Austin's story and can honestly say I wasn't at all disappointed... I knew there would be more to the cheeky chap than met the eye. I'm glad he and Jayla finally got their happily ever after.

I did find myself cursing out loud at times... “Tell her the truth...” “Tell him what you know” “Arghhhhh” I always take that as a sign of good writing!

Loved the narration too!

Entertaining!

Replay is the fourth and final book in Kacey Shea's Off Track Records series. It's a wonderful story filled with drama and suspense. I especially loved the bonus epilogue!

Narrators Jason Clarke and Morae Brehon were great as Austin and Jayla.

Replay is a second chance, BWWM contemporary rock star romance written in dual first-person POV and recorded in dual narration. It's a standalone that ends with a HEA and deals with sensitive subjects some may find triggering. No cliffhanger, no cheating.

I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Fantastic end to the series

I love a good second chance romance and this definitely hit the spot. Add in the suspense that was brought and the things the couple had to overcome, it’s a solid story that will keep you hooked. Kacey Shea sure knows how to hook me and keep me invested in her characters. She weaves her stories so beautifully, making them fun whilst dealing with some difficult issues which are handled with sensitivity and grace. It’s been a joy to binge this series.

I was never sold on Austin. He was my least favourite member of the band so when I started this book, I was prepared to not be invested in the story. But what actually happened was I met my latest book boyfriend. Getting in Austin’s head and understanding him really made a difference and when I think back now to the previous books, I feel like I understand him more. He was not only the one-liner guy but the sweet and considerate guy, the guy with demons nobody knows about and the guy that will do what it takes to help those he loves. And how can you not swoon at that? Jayla is a kick-arse heroine with a difficult past. I knew it was going to be difficult for me once we found out about her, but it is written well and doesn’t go into too much detail. The way she has learned to cope and allowed Austin in was brilliant and realistic. Together, they were a force to be reckoned with. Their push and pull really worked for me, I loved their chemistry and how Jayla tried to fight it but once she gave in, it was game on.

I’ve never really been a fan of stories where the female takes control in the bedroom department but this worked so well and made perfect sense to the story that I really enjoyed it. It was a different dynamic.

There is a bonus epilogue on the audiobook and thank goodness, I’d have definitely felt disappointed had I not got the closure that provided.

Jason Clarke was on fine form in this production. He played the cocky rockstar so well. And especially made those more vulnerable and emotional scenes stand out and give the character the depth he was missing in the earlier books. Did I mention Jason also sings? Be still my heart. I was excited when I heard Morae Brehon was cast for this audio but unfortunately, the performance fell flat for me. I really struggled with her chapters, it felt choppy - in that the words didn’t seem to flow and it sounded like there was a period after every few words. Iodine I needed to speed up her chapters just to get through them, which was disappointing. Both Jason and Morae had smooth transitions between characters and the emotional sense were really heightened by their performances. The overall production was great.

Austin & Jayla

I was waiting on Austin's story and Kacey Shea does not disappoint! This second chance romance had me from the first chapter. Jayla, Austin's high school best friend shows up at one of his concerts. Now that he has seen her again, he isn't going to let her get away. Jayla, an ex-police officer, has missed Austin too, but knowing his reputation, and her past experience, is not anxious to let him in. When the band is threatened, Jayla is brought in to run the security team, and now Austin gets his shot. Secrets revealed, danger lurking, and passion high, Kacey Shea delivers my favorite book of the series.I love stories when the characters have history, and their second chance is not the easiest, making the slow burn ignite with passion. Shea deals with relevant issues in her books too, and Jayla's story is written with compassion. Then the bonus epilogue giving us a glimpse at the lives of all of our band members is the best! Seeing where time takes us after their books is just icing on the cake. This one is going in my top 10 listens of the year!

Jason Clarke and Morae Brehon are incredible together. Clarke keeps all his voices consistent through all 4 books, making the listen like coming home. We know who is speaking, and he has fantastic nuances in his voice making us understand all the feelings. Morae Brehon is amazing. She breathes life into Jayla, and draws us into her story. She is the perfect fit. It is a wonderful listen!

Austin finally meets his match!

Great conclusion to the band’s story! Jason Clarke was awesome doing all 4 books and it worked having different female narrators each time. I loved the extended epilogue for HEA closure with everyone!!
