Story
Welcome to Midnight, Texas, a town with many boarded-up windows and few full-time inhabitants, located at the crossing of Witch Light Road and Davy Road. It's a pretty standard dried-up western town. There's a pawnshop (someone lives in the basement and is seen only at night). There's a diner (people who are just passing through tend not to linger). And there's new resident Manfred Bernardo, who thinks he's found the perfect place to work in private (and who has secrets of his own). Stop at the one traffic light in town, and everything looks normal. Stay awhile, and learn the truth....

Summary
Librarian Aurora Teagarden reckons she knows everything about her fellow townsfolk, including which ones share her interest in the darker side of human nature, as she and her friends have formed a club to discuss real life killings. Excellent murder mystery
If you could sum up Real Murders in three words, what would they be?
A murder mystery written with plenty of humour. The characters were easy to relate to and brought to life by Therese Plummer.
What other book might you compare Real Murders to, and why?
I really enjoyed meeting the main character Aurora Teagarden, and look forwards to the rest of this charming series.
What does Therese Plummer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
The author creates a charming heroine, in Aurora Teagarden. Written with a gentle sense of humour, this is a murder mystery which will keep you guessing right to the end.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Therese Plummer's performance is faultless. She brings all the characters to life, and makes the book a real pleasure to listen to.

The narrator was good. I have very much enjoyed other Charlaine Harris books. The 'Midnight Texas' series was very good! I liked maany aspects of the three books and will listen to them again. I was hoping to find another enjoyable series with 'Real Murders'. But it is not for me. I might have persevered on to the next book in the hope that it improves. Going by the reviews, I don't think this will happen. I'm cutting my losses and won't pursue this series any further. However, I will keep a lookout for other Charlaine Harris books that are more to my taste. Fingers crossed.

I’d listened to a few Aurora Teagarden before getting this one, so it was nice to find out how it all began. Great narrator, good story. Enjoyed it.
