Story
Shay Gable hated my guts, and I hated hers, too. We went out of our way to avoid one another at all times. When she came in my direction, I went the other. When we locked eyes, she’d turn and walk away. All of that changed the day I was presented with a challenge. It started out as a stupid bet: make Shay fall in love with me before I fell in love with her first. That was an easy bet for me to win. I didn’t love. I hardly liked. Yet slowly the game started to shift. Shay made me crave things I never knew I wanted.

Story
After leaving the city life behind to escape my loveless marriage, I moved to small-town Havenbarrow for a fresh start. What I didn’t expect was to find myself drawn to the town’s black sheep. They called him troubled, cold, a man with a dark past. What everyone seemed to miss about Jax was the splashes of light in his eyes, the random acts of kindness he performed when no one was watching, and the way he made me smile and laugh.

Story
My name is Mackenzie Bartholomew, or at least it was. I’m staring at my dead body, lying in a casket. I was a healthy, 39-year-old mother of three. I have so many questions but very few answers. Was I murdered? Did I commit suicide? I don’t know if I’m in some sort of purgatory or if I’ve gone straight to hell. I’m stuck somewhere in between life and death, forced to travel back in time to relive moments from my past, ones I’d rather forget. I’m desperate to piece together the details surrounding my death. If I don’t, I fear my soul will never find rest.

Reeling from the death of his twin brother and bandmate, rock star Oliver Smith is trying to drink his problems away. Apparently he isn’t very good at it; they follow him wherever he goes. Also in hot pursuit are the paparazzi, who catch Oliver at his lowest low.

Greyson East left his mark on me. As the young girl who first fell for him, I didn’t know much about life. I did know about his smiles, though, and his laughs, and the strange way my stomach flipped when he was near. Life was perfect…until it wasn’t, and when we were forced to go our separate ways, I held on to our memories, let go of my first crush, and wished for the day I’d find him again.

But there comes a time in everyone's life when they face a fork in the road. Should I go left, or should I go right? It didn't matter as long as I didn't remain stagnant any longer. Jett Stone opened me up to a whole new world, reminding me that it was okay to find my own way. I could have roots in Willow Springs and still spread my wings and fly. What I didn't expect was to fall in love with the broody football player.

In My Own Moccasins is an unflinching account of addiction, intergenerational trauma, and the wounds brought on by sexual violence. It is also the story of sisterhood, the power of ceremony, the love of family, and the possibility of redemption.

A beautifully written Southern Family drama with a hint of romance!
This story is not your conventional romance but it revolves around relationships between friends and family.
This was refreshing and so very different than I expected going into this one.
I was pleasantly surprise that the story's focus was more on friendships, building bridges, second chances, learning to trust and so much more.
I definitely recommend this beautifully written southern family drama with a hint of romance.
Miller Steven's audio delivery was very engaging and enjoyable.

A Wonderful, Emotional Story
This story definitely takes you through a whole spectrum of emotions. From the book description you know to expect something big that brings all of the characters together. As the main event is revealed in pieces throughout the story, I felt hope, joy, anger, hope again, anger and disbelief, shock, and finally happiness. I was thankful for the humor sprinkled throughout. Zac was able to find new friends in Betsy and Jesse, and reconnect with his own family. I loved his grandma Carmen! Although the story mainly focuses on Zac, the other sub-stories were all woven together so beautifully. By the end, everybody was on their way to healing and getting on with their lives. Miller Stevens did a wonderful job bringing life to each character. Thank you Shane K. Morton!
