Summary

She’s got your job. She wants your life....

When Katherine first meets her new intern Lily, she’s captivated. Young, beautiful and confident, Lily reminds Katherine of everything she once was - and it’s not long before she develops a dark fascination with her new colleague. But is Lily as perfect as she seems, or does she have a sinister hidden agenda? As Katherine is drawn into an obsessive power struggle with the intern, a disturbing picture emerges of two women hiding dark secrets - and who are desperate enough to do anything to come out on top....

Breathlessly addictive and deeply unsettling, That Woman is a thriller like no other. Taut, terrifying and with shocking twists at every turn, it will keep you guessing until the very last minute.

Perfect for anyone who loved Lucy Foley’s The Hunting Party, Harriet Tyce’s Blood Orange and Samantha Downing’s My Lovely Wife.

Gripping thriller, couldn't stop listening

Could not stop listening to this and got very frustrated when my husband had the audacity to try and interrupt me when he called!! A great thriller, and listening to how Katherine felt about being an invisible 40-something is exactly what I've been going through, which really resonated with me!!!

Crikey....The story that keeps on giving !

Well.... I NEARLY skipped past "Precious You" as just another psychological thriller. I'm SO glad I relented.
The storylines keep you right on the edge of your seat and just when you THINK that you've got every one sussed, there twists and turns aplenty and yet ANOTHER slap in the face after slap in the face! It has a modern, 21st Century feel to it and you don't have to mind the F's and C's, but at least they are in context and not just there to pad out a thinly veiled story - it is anything but! For almost all of the chapters, the story is portrayed from the perspectives of both Katherine and Lily.
I must say I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed it and could never wait to get back to it.
IF you ever doubted that there are some screw-ups in this world, then doubt NO more and I was genuinely sorry to reach the end. Superb.
Roll on the next novel from Helen Monks Takhar

Best thing I’ve had on audible!

I’ve been an audible member since 2014 and this is by far the best thing I’ve ever listened too! I only got it yesterday and couldn’t stop, so many twists and turns and so up to date! I’ve bought three physical copies for friends and family.
Would thoroughly recommend to everyone but especially women in their 40s

No one has the perfect life not even the ones at the top!

You think you can guess what’s coming next - you are wrong!
Interesting insight into the world of publishing, I’m glad I don’t live their lives, I didn’t like any of the characters everyone was fake and superficial and it’s all about how you look, I actually felt sorry for them. The story was played out from both Katherine and Lilly’s point of view with some good twists and turns and very dramatic events.
Excellent narration

Superb!

I love this novel. It should speak strongly to any female millennial or professional woman ‘of a certain age’. It is original, nothing derivative here. Beautifully written and narrated, I simply couldn’t put it down. Maybe the best book of 2020!

Brilliant narration bolsters a plot full of holes

I enjoyed this but honestly I think that had more to do with the excellent narration thatn the plot which was pretty weak and had some gapping holes in it. The author really seemed to struggle with the ending and it was pretty disappointing if I’m honest.
