Summary

An unpauseable story of murder, revenge and betrayal from international number one best seller Jeffrey Archer.

The clock is ticking in this roller-coaster ride of a thriller....

In London, the Metropolitan Police set up a new Unsolved Murders Unit - a cold case squad - to catch the criminals nobody else can.

In Geneva, millionaire art collector Miles Faulkner - convicted of forgery and theft - was pronounced dead two months ago. So why is his unscrupulous lawyer still representing a dead client?

On a luxury liner en route to New York, the battle for power at the heart of a wealthy dynasty is about to turn to murder.

And at the heart of all three investigations are Detective Chief Inspector William Warwick, rising star of the Met, and ex-undercover operative Ross Hogan, brought in from the cold.

But can they catch the killers before it’s too late?

Jeffrey Archer’s previous novel Nothing Ventured was a number one Sunday Times best seller w/c 28th March 2020.

Story telling at its finest

First time I’ve listened to an audio book of Jeffrey Archer as I enjoy reading and holding a book in my hand but I enjoyed many hours of walking whilst happily listening to this intricate and intelligent story. I enjoyed the interview with Jeffrey at the end insightful as a fellow writer

Easy listening in car etc

It’s easy listening and I was slightly curious to see what would happen after the ptevious book. But losing interest and hardly great literature, nor up to author’s earlier works.

Okay, until she ripped off his trousers

I had read a few of Jeffrey's earlier books like First Among Equals , and they were great, but this one is not that good. I can't figure out when it is set. Victorian England or the modern day. The 1st part of the story on the ocean cruise was fine , and 2nd part started well. Then it starts to get silly. When the detectives wife rips off his trousers, that was when I stopped listening and deleted the book . I won't be buying any more Jeffrey Archer books after this one.

Another superb mystery with William Warwick

I just loved the way that Jeffrey Archer portrays his characters and the drips of humour within the prose. George Blagden reads the stories, so well and keeps you turning the pages( or keeping in listening mode, on Audible)! Both author and performer keep you amused/ excited and holding your breath as William Warwick combines his family, work and friends relationships all tightly interwoven. A brilliant book that I highly recommend; it will entertain a diverse group of readers.

Over My Dead Body

From the start to the end I enjoyed these books. Love the way the story starts to grow from PC to Det Insp and how his mind developed into a criminal but has the moral sense not to cross the line. I will look for more like these books. 👍🏾👍🏾

Terrible

Had to give up its so dated and muddled. Don’t believe in the characters. Plot mad. Dialogue stilted.

Usual quality of story

From Jeffrey Archer keeps you wanting to know what happens next.
Fascinating interview from the author at the end. He is indeed a master story teller. May he get to the end of his quest.

One of his best...

Having read or listen to almost all of Sir Archer's books since the 80's, I can honestly say this is one of his best.
And George Blagden is just fantastic bringing all the characters to life.

However, the interview at the end of the book alone is worth a credit. I humbly advise you not to miss it.
