Summary
On a sunny summer morning, nulls all over the country are attacked at the same time.
In Boulder, Allison "Lex" Luther barely gets her niece to safety. In Los Angeles, Scarlett Bernard is nearly shot in the back. It seems that a powerful enemy is unhappy with the Old World leaders' plans to form a government, and they've coordinated a strike against those rare individuals who can undo magic itself.
Now Lex, Scarlett, and their trusted friends have a plan to put these attackers on trial...but finding them won't be easy, and stopping them means leaving their own territories behind.
The California null and the Boulder boundary witch, along with allies old and new, will have to travel to Galena, Illinois, a small town near the Mississippi River that serves as an annual playground for vampires.
To protect nulls and safeguard the future of the Old World, Scarlett and Lex team up to fight a battle that's been years in the making.
But Galena has secrets of her own....
Old World War is the 12th and final (for now) book in the Old World series.

ummm…
i was so happy and excited to find out there was a new book in the Old World stories! and, for the most part, it was worth the wait.
what i Don’t understand, is why every character but Lex, has grown. not only as a person, but in their specific talents as well. Lex does nothing but backslide~ every time i turned around, she was doing something stupid or just lame. idk how many times i spoke aloud at the ridiculous things she did or said or whatever. allllll this time she’s had to become a better boundary witch and learn about who She Is, she Hasn’t! the only thing she’s stuck with in Years is Quinn, and even That seems to be in jeopardy! she Talks about how much she Loves him, and yet she’s constantly having to talk herself out of doing who knows what with poor Simon. i’m just Not impressed…
Scarlett, on the other hand, has come a long way, and i like/love Her character more with every book =)
idk MFO, if you write another Old World novel, PlzplzPLZ, Doooo something with Lex!! she’s drowning or Something, and she just gets more and more annoying!!!

Entertaining
Great wrap-up of the two series. Having Lex and Scarlet teaming up made for an entertaining listen! The narrator did a nice job with providing unique voices for each character and appropriate tone inflections for each team.

A wonderful story.
The author did a wonderful job bringing together her 2 paralleling stories in a full book. I truly enjoyed it. And I hope this more soon.

Satisfying conclusion and crossover!
This was a fantastic book if you like the Old World stories set around Scarlett and Lex. The danger is real, and the people involved have to work as hard as they can. One of the fun bits is how characters from one series interact with the other in new combinations. It's not just Scarlet and Lex teaming up, but Lex and Jesse doing things together.
Definitely recommended but with the caution to begin at the beginning. Otherwise, it might not make sense.

Just Wow!
I love the crossover and have enjoyed both of these series for many years. Melissa is a fantastic story teller who creates a beautiful tapestry of relatable characters with complex counter play and humor. Finely tuned tension with operatic crescendos are orchestrated to leave the reader grateful for time spent in the Old World. Highly recommend and 5 stars all the way!

I love these characters and stories. This book bring together two strong women in a story that allows them to stay true to themselves while being bad asses.

Exceptional
Narration was perfect. The book kept me enraptured through the entire thing, and the ending gave Lex and Scarlet everything that I ever wanted for them.
