Story
The truth is that most media representations of Norse and Celtic times are based on fiction with a smattering of truth and are embellished with a healthy dose of imagination. There are very few written accounts from these societies because the information was passed on by word of mouth. Stories were handed down through the generations and became the sagas we know today but how much of that information is accurate is debatable.

Story
Modern Norse Paganism is more of a spiritual path than a religion. It is based on pre-Christian Northern European people’s ancient customs, beliefs, worldviews, and folkloric practices. It is also an essential subdivision of the more prominent modern religious movement, which has come to be known as “Heathenism/Heathenry”. People who practice Norse Paganism might sometimes refer to themselves as “Heathens”.

Story
Sixteen hundred years ago, Britain left the Roman Empire and swiftly fell into ruin. Grand cities and luxurious villas were deserted and left to crumble, and civil society collapsed into chaos. Into this violent and unstable world came foreign invaders from across the sea and established themselves as its new masters. The Anglo-Saxons traces the turbulent history of these people across the next six centuries. It explains how their earliest rulers fought relentlessly against each other for glory and supremacy and then were almost destroyed by the onslaught of the Vikings.

Ásatrú is a religion that revives, rebuilds, and reimagines the ancient polytheism of Northern Europe. This religious movement officially began in Iceland in 1972, but new iterations of the Old Way quickly spread worldwide, and Asatru is one of the fastest-growing spiritual movements in the United States today.

Story
Seeing how it doesn’t have a set doctrine or dogma, there is no way to best practice Norse paganism. There is also no scripture or a “holy book”, which makes it ideal for people who wish to feel free and authentic to themselves while practicing spirituality. The way Norse paganism is practiced vastly varies from region to region, and there is no “correct” way to practice it. However, it still involves adhering to some tenets, customs, and beliefs. This book offers a comprehensive exploration of modern Norse paganism.

A one-eyed old man, with a gray cloak and a wide-brimmed hat leaning on a staff. A wanderer who appears when least expected, bringing triumph or doom. The god of prophecy, poetry and fate. A shape changer. A sorcerer. The god Odin cuts a dramatic figure in Norse mythology and is still a part of the popular imagination. He is the inspiration for figures like J.R.R. Tolkien's Gandalf the Grey, and he still appears in modern literature as varied as Marvel Comics and Neil Gaiman's novel American Gods.

Though the world came to know of the Norse and their legends through Roman interaction at about the time of Christ, most of what we came to know were handed-down from folk tales gathered by native writers like Snorri Sturluson (c. 1179 - 1241). This was from a time when the Norse had already been converted to Christianity.

Great stuff here!
While the text is excellent, his voice elevates it to a new level. He uses multiple voices and tones for each character, allowing you to interact with them off the pages. Well done, and I had a great time with what I think is a history lesson but may well be a fantastic piece of fiction.
