About this listen

First do no harm and never break a heart.

Trevor Sanchez left behind a life of war with Alpha Team for a future in medicine, but he’s pulled back into the fight when terrorists target his teaching hospital. Trevor can’t stand by and do nothing, especially not when someone’s life is in danger. When that life involves a gorgeous, funny paramedic, Trevor knows he’s in trouble.

Paramedic Brendan Kane never thought rescuing a patient’s life would put his own at risk. Being targeted by a terrorist group was never covered in his medical training. When his security detail comes with a former member of Alpha Team, Brendan discovers a silver-lining to the situation. Trevor is hot like fire and oh so sexy, taking up space in Brendan’s life in unexpected ways that he’s reluctant to give up.

Trevor and Brendan must navigate their way through danger and a searing, addictive connection that leaves them both wanting more. If they hope to give the spark burning between them a chance to ignite, they’ll have to outlast the enemy first.

Wish there was more!

Awww.. Trevor's story. This takes place after the Alpha Team transitions to the civilian world. Trevor pursues his dreams of becoming a doctor and ends up with his own man. This is such a sweet novella, making us wish there's more of the Alpha Team. This short listen has plenty of action, a lot of heat and Greg did an incredible job, as always, voicing out the characters.

Great addition

Hailey Turner did an amazing job with the short stories following the Metahuman series. Although each book in the Classified series can stand on its own, its best enjoy after the original series. Greg Boudreaux was super with the narration.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Life After Alpha Team Begins For Trevor

I'd recommend jumping into New Horizons after reading/listening to In The Requiem in the Metahuman Files series, though it just about works as a standalone.

Trevor is studying to become a doctor after leaving Alpha Team and meets Brendan, a paramedic, when there is an incident in the hospital. Brendan needs protection from the people targeting him...who better than the very ably trained Trevor??

This is the second in the Metahuman Files: Classified series of novellas and is another brilliant snapshot of life with the guys, perfectly performed by Greg Boudreaux.

Loved it!

Trevor and Brendan were so adorable together! I loved that they had the same background and interests and just KNEW! They clicked so well from the start and it was refreshing to not have relationship angst as much as just situational angst in a story. Loved it.

An action-packed romance

I loved getting to see a glimpse into what civilian life looks like for Trevor and the rest of the Alpha Team. Despite his interest in pursuing medicine, Trevor didn't surprise me at all when he leapt into action to protect innocent lives at risk. The fact that Brendan happened to be one of those in need of protection made their immediate attraction even more exciting. It was so much fun to see another action-packed case solved by the team, and the sweet romance between Trevor and Brendan was the cherry on top. Greg Boudreaux did a fantastic job bringing these guys to life, and I can't wait to see what's next!

Awesome world

I really enjoyed how these characters came together. They are both so unique and cute, rough and tough, adorable and tender. Turner has amazing world building talents creating a universe that is so interesting and exciting!

The narration is, of course, exemplary! Boudreau does amazingly well with different characters and voices, accents and tones, even various genders. He brings life to characters in a way you don’t see with many authors. One of the greats like Michael Dean, John Solo, Alexander Cendese. Just amazing.

Fantastic Listen

I don't remember much about Trevor from the core Metahuman books, so I was excited to learn more about him in this story. I loved the connection between he and Brandon. They are both such genuine and caring individuals they fit perfectly together. This is an exciting story with lots of drama and action. Plenty of sexy time, too. (I loved their special variety of kink using Trevor's power.) It was also great seeing old team members from the former Alpha Team again. I love the way Jamie continues to look after and take care of his people.

Greg Boudreaux does a fantastic job with narration. Great delivery and expressive with character emotions.

Medicine and romance in a war zone

The characters and setting for this novella were amazing. We get the story of a doctor and a paramedic who experience a terrorist attack and while fighting to survive that, must deal with the sparks that ignite between them. Everything about this story is fast paced and hot and Greg Boudreaux is the perfect performer to keep everything moving at the breakneck pace while still making the connection between Brendan and Trevor perfectly believable.

Trevor's Story

We didn't get a lot of Trevor in the series, so it's great to have a novella that is centered on him. We see him as he's moved on from the MDF, and is working towards his future goals. Of course he gets pulled back in though. I love that we get a little bit of Jamie, Kyle, and Katie in this too. Great to see the gang keep in touch. Perfect narration.
