Summary

Sometimes it just takes one little secret to make parenthood everything you thought it could be....

It’s a familiar feeling - you are sat at the dinner table and your child is acting up. You have tried everything you thought was right. After a long day of work, it feels like your child is purposefully pushing your buttons.

No parent wants to lose control and shout at their kid, but it happens. Maybe you think that at least you are disciplining your child...but studies show that long term it leads to poorer parent-child relations and is consistently ranked the worst disciplining method by child behavior psychologists.

No parent wants to have a bad relationship with their child, but if they don’t take the time to watch their own behavior it can happen without them even realizing.

Aileen Jarvis and Rowan Roffe are child developmental specialists and have seen this happen over and over again.

One of the most common issues they faced when working with children has always been the way in which the parents are just so radically underprepared to cope with the stress of raising a child.

While working together, they realized that if they wanted to make a real and lasting impact on a child’s life, they had to start at the core - they had to start with the parents.

Ever since then they have worked tirelessly to bridge the divide between parent and child and teach parents the secrets of mindful parenting.

Since seamlessly integrating mindfulness into their therapeutic approach, they have gone from success to success. The impact that they made on the child by simply slightly adjusting parental behaviors has been so successful that they have made it a fundamental part of their treatment process.

For the first time ever, they are releasing their parenting roadmap in book form, for much less than the price of an expensive therapy session.

Very useful book

I really needed this book how to stop losing my sh*t with my children at home during quarantine. I agree with author that sometimes it feels like your child is purposefully pushing your buttons. I loved concept of mindful parenting, practical advice how to deal with the most common issues and with the stress when raising a child.

Practical!!

Practical is the very best way to describe this book. It starts by acknowledging that none of us are perfect parents and lose it from time to time, trying to deal with our kids. That's where this book picks up and suggests down to earth practical responses and methods for coping and then taking charge.

Great, practical advice

Parenthood is both beautiful and difficult...And for those difficult times, this book comes into help. A lot of great advice is given, and personally liked the fact the authors emphasized the idea of self-care for parents. Too many people forget about their needs when becoming parents, so no wonder you've got no more patience if your happiness glass is empty. Would totally recommend this title!

Very informative book!

This book is full of amazing information and tips for parents who are looking to change and become better at parenting.
I got this book as I wanted to know if/how I could make the change to become a parent who responds rather than reacts when communicating with my teens.

This book has taught me to be more mindful of how I speak to my kids and how to respond in a manner that I want to instil in my children. Its not easy when you have 2 jobs plus running the house and your kids try push your buttons...sometimes the voices are raised, I always regret raising my voice afterwards and wish I'd responded in a better way!
The qualities I want my children to develop are empathy, sympathy, love, respect and good morals...this book has been a timely reminder as my kids are getting older but I still have time to make the changes.
I want to make us all better people and better communicators and not to lose my rag when things get tough.

Recommend this book to all parents wanting to make the change for the better.

A must read for any parent with a busy schedule

This book not only gave me a good explanation of what’s happening cognitively with your mind during stress in your every day life but also the HOW TO transform from these physical road blocks and frustrations. In my opinion this will be hugely complimentary to your parental journey especially if you’re in my position where you feel like you’ve got barely any time on your hands. You can tell both authors have done their research and have genuine experience with raising children using positive reinforcement.

Ultimate Parenting Hack!

I absolutely loved this book!

It's filled with a ton of useful and unique techniques to finally take control of your children and maintain yourself in difficult situations. It's not always the easiest thing to maintain your patience when your children are throwing a tantrum or otherwise acting up.

My favorite part of this book is that it isn't unrealistic and provides tricks that are easily adoptable into daily life.

Fantastic resource that I'd absolutely recommend for all parents!
