Story
In a city as old as London, the discovery is hardly surprising. But when scratch marks are found on the inside of the coffin lid, Detective Jane Tennison believes she has unearthed a mystery far darker than any she's investigated before. However, not everyone agrees. Tennison's superiors dismiss it as a historic cold case and the Church seems desperate to conceal the facts from the investigation. It's clear that someone is hiding the truth and perhaps even the killer. Tennison must pray she can find both - before they are buried forever.

Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
The irresistible new stand-alone novel from number one best-selling author Sophie Kinsella.
I love you...but what if I can't love your life?
Ava is sick of online dating. She’s always trusted her own instincts over an algorithm, anyway, and she wants a break from it all. So when she signs up to a semi-silent, anonymous writing retreat in glorious Italy, love is the last thing on her mind.
Until she meets a handsome stranger. All she knows is that he’s funny, he’s kind and - she soon learns - he’s great in bed. He’s equally smitten, and after a whirlwind, intoxicating affair, they pledge their love without even knowing each other’s real names.
But when they return home, reality hits. They’re both driven mad by each other’s weird quirks and annoying habits, from his eccentric, naked-sauna-loving family to her terribly behaved, shirt-shredding dog. As disaster follows disaster, it seems that while they love each other, they just can’t love each other’s lives. Can they overcome their differences to find one life, together?

I just cannot believe Sophie Kinsella wrote this drivel. I never thought I would return one of her books. I really hope this is a one off duff as she is my favourite author but this was just dreadful. Cannot find one positive to say 😬

wishy washy clap trap
Oh dear! Extremely disappointing story with irritating narration. Pulls no punches and I guarantee you will figure out the ending by page 10. Mind numbing, dull as dishwater, with a prissy main character whose voice is like nails down a black board. Yes you've guessed it, it wasn't for me!

Terrible until the end
I can’t even describe how I felt about this book really because it’s so mixed. It was so bad I found myself slightly addicted to it.
It was very funny at times though.
If I had the hard copy book I never would have finished it but because it was on audible I listened to the end and that did salvage it a little. I was glad it improved as the first 3/4 were bordering on ridiculous.
Wouldn’t say don’t read but certainly wouldn’t recommend it (I love the majority of Sophie kinsella’s work and usually rave for weeks after each book)

Found the characters very weak and sometimes even annoying. The story line was very predicable and clichéd at times. This is the only Sophie Kinsella book I've read and not liked.

The Kinsella I love
Fiona Hardingham and Sophie Kinsella are just an unbeatable combo. Can't even describe the amount of laughter they've gifted me, esp during these horrible days for humanity.
Sophie Kinsella's characters are always so quirky and hilarious yet remain realistic, and Fiona Hardingham's narration is just a cuddle for the soul. Thank you both ❤️

loved it soooo much
sophie is my absolute favorite author but her last novels (namely my not so perfect life and i owe you one, but Especially surprise me) had been really letting me down. even more so when i compared it to the shopaholic series and other classics from sophie such as youve got my number and can you keep a secret. BUT this one is absolutely back on track!!! it has everything i love abt sophie's stories - fun, romance, humor, drama, happy endings. its so well written and ALL the characters are so amazing and the issues faced by them all are completely relatable. i cant stress this enough, its a classic sophie kinsella novel and i love it
