Summary
Renowned scholar of comparative religion, Jacob Needleman, gathers together ancient texts and writings of the modern practitioners of essential Christianity. Needleman demonstrates that a more effective contemplative tradition existed in the early church and continues today in the lives of extraordinary people whose stories he retells in the course of his own personal explorations into the realms of the spirit.

Mind and Soul opening!
I cannot thank Dr. Needleman enough for writing Lost Christianity. I have been stuck for 30 years on a pathway through various Christian denominations, searching for the presence of God. Most of this searching ending in guilt an fear. I do not know exactly where this pathway will lead next, but Lost Christianity is pointing me in a direction that I am now realizing has always been inside or me. I will move forward without fear and guilt and may I do so in the confidence that I am already in the midst of the Divine Presence. I just need to listen to my breath.

Eastern and West Spirituality
Jacob Needleman Clearly explains the emptiness of attending almost all Catholic parish’s. So many of us have found a practice that is not supported nor understood by the parish priest. Thank you for explaining why.

Well done!
A book that entertains and informs - what a gift. Certain chapters will listen to several times - I found them so rich.
