Summary

This program consists of audio lessons 6 to 15 from the original or classic version of the Learning Spanish Like Crazy Level 1 program (as opposed to the new and improved version). Learning Spanish Like Crazy will teach you how to speak authentic Latin American conversational Spanish. I have only used native Spanish speakers in this program to make sure that you develop an authentic Latin American Spanish accent.

If you are not concerned with learning how to speak real, everyday conversational Spanish, then this program is probably not for you. I understand that there are people who only want to learn enough Spanish to communicate with a hotel clerk, restaurant waiter, flight attendant, etc., in a Spanish speaking country. But there are others who want to learn enough Spanish so that they will be able to develop meaningful friendships and relationships with Spanish speakers, and improve communication with Spanish speaking in-laws. If the latter category best describes you, then this program is for you.

The Learning Spanish Like Crazy system also puts a major emphasis on improving pronunciation. Some people have a natural ability that allows them to quickly develop native-like pronunciation. You probably know someone who is the type of person that I am referring to. We have all seen or heard someone who can imitate the voice of a famous politician, actor, singer, or other celebrity so well, you could almost be fooled into thinking that you are actually hearing the famous person speak. Unfortunately, I was not born with that talent. I had to learn certain techniques to improve my Spanish pronunciation. Those same pronunciation-enhancing techniques are incorporated in this program. So if you've struggled to improve your Spanish pronunciation in the past, after completing this program, don't be surprised if native Spanish speakers begin to compliment you on your pronunciation.

Change speakers in middle of course

changed speakers in middle of course to a woman with a scratchy raspy voice. & who speaks entirely too fast... not good for people who are trying to first learn a language.

I bought every lesson beginner to advanced

I really like that the course forces you from the beginning to speak sentences, those sentences are built on to become increasingly complex throughout the lesson. It’s worth the buy for me. I already know some Spanish, but needed the practice of speaking (and quickly remembering my verbs)

Best way to learn a new language!

I’m in my late 30s attempting to really amerce myself in a familiar, but uncomfortable language. I love the organization of the lessons. They build in each other nicely. I also enjoy the changing of verbs from one person to the next. Keeps you on your toes and keeps your attention. Only complaint, the female speakers talks very quickly! Sometimes it’s hard to understand and stay in her level.

Pretty Decent but..

The narrators change throughout this series which makes it feel somewhat slapped together. Lessons 13 though 15 seem out of place and focus a lot on two different ways to say "I wake up" (vs I "get up") and I'm just not sure if that is super important at this point in my learning. I would have liked to see more emphasis on common/useful phrases, grammar, and verb conjugation and instead they are spending 3 chapters talking about bathroom functions. "I brush my teeth every day."
