Story
For college sophomore Mitch Greyson, determination and persistence are the name of the game if he wants to make it as a professional hockey player. A busy schedule of practices, games, classes, homework, two part-time jobs, and now, working with a tutor to help him pass the class he’s failing so that he can keep his scholarship shouldn’t leave him with enough time to flirt with the NHL player in town. But that doesn’t stop him.

Story
If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times. Friends don't bang friends. I want my friends to stay in my life, especially that flirty, clever, outgoing best friend of mine. It's a darn good thing Owen and I made a pact in college to never ever sleep together, or else I'd be tempted. Trouble is, eight years later, I've been wondering what his kisses taste like. And I've been curious if our chemistry would extend into the bedroom. If he might feel the same risky pull. But I don't want to lose Owen.

Dear Melrose, The first time I met you, you were a stranger. The second time, you were my roommate. The third time, you made it clear you were about to become the biggest thorn my side had ever known. You sing way too loud in the shower and use all the hot water. You’re bossy as hell. You make my life all kinds of complicated. But no matter how hard I try, I can’t stop thinking about you. Truthfully...I can’t stop wanting you. I was going to tell you this.

"Look out for Zach, and don't hit on him." My brother's request sounds easy enough. Keep an eye out for his best friend on campus and keep my hands to myself. Easy. Even if Zach is a quintessential nerd, who I've always thought was cute, I don't have the time to think with my...stick. There's only one stick I should be focused on this year, and that's my hockey stick. My goal once I graduate is to get an NHL contract. The last thing I need is a distraction. On or off the ice. Only, keeping to the rules is harder than I thought it would be.

When it comes to hockey, I'm all about the game. I've worked for years to be one of the best in the league, and l've done it without splashing my orientation all over the tabloids. My hockey image is one I've carefully cultivated, and after one night with Ezra Palaszczuk, I risk it all. He's cocky, obnoxious, and has an ego bigger than Massachusetts. And okay, maybe he's the sexiest man I've ever known. We'll never get along. Not when we sleep together. Not even when my possessive streak awakens. That doesn't stop us from falling into bed together over and over again.

Swoony!
Whenever I start a new Amy Aislin book (which is whenever she releases one,) I know I will be sucked into the story and with my earbuds glued to me from the first to the last second. Her writing style is catching and engaging and her stories are always fresh and entertaining.
Case in point, Brant and Kellan’s story is a sweet, very low-angst tale of coming together when the situation is right for both men.
If you read Keeping Casey, you may remember Harkrader, Ethan’s teammate with the homophobic stepbrother, who was pining for his older sister’s best friend. Well, here we are, we meet Brant Harkrader, who is now back in his hometown looking for a fresh start, which brings him in very close proximity to said older sister’s best friend.
What he doesn’t know is that Kellan as stopped seeing him as a kid or a little brother for some time now, As a matter of fact, he sees him as a man he can have a future with and now that he has Brant back within reach he can start to woo him to make that happen.

Sweet, slow burn, low angst romance
I absolutely loved Kellan and Brandt.
Both have secretly been in love with each other for years, neither one acting on it for fear of ruining a great friendship.
When Brandt finds himself back home and in need of a place to crash, Kellan
quickly offers his home as an option instead of Brandt's sister's Wendy's place which is already full and very busy.
Both come across very comedically as very oblivious to each other's romantic advancements but luckily they get on the same page.
Poor Brandt has really suffered through some horrible things with his family.
I loved how fiercely protective, devoted and supportive Killian was of Brandt while also being a safe space for him to grow and develop his own strength and independence.
These two were such great characters but together they were even better and stronger.
They were completely realistic and I truly appreciated how they communicated and worked through their issues as adults.
Michael Franklin did an amazing job of narrating and bringing these characters to life.

Sweet and easy romance
Keeping Kellan sees Brant Harkraker move back to his home town and gratefully accept an invitation from his sister's best friend, Kellan, to stay with him instead of his sister, her husband and three young children. They have the chance to build on the friendship that truly started to grow a few years ago even though they've known each other since Brandt was young. Both men are working towards a better future for themselves, Brandt having left a toxic work environment and Kellan having just started his own business. It gives them an understanding of each others work ethic, sometimes to the extreme, something they don't necessarily get from others. Their attraction is there from the start of the story and simmers quietly in the background until the have the confidence to move their friendship in a different direction.
I really enjoyed these two characters. There is a real ease in the way that they get along and spend time together as though it's no effort at all. They're very strong willed in what they want but have learned to protect themselves after harmful behaviour from others in their past. Brandt's bully continues to cause trouble and affects relationships with others. What makes Kellan different is how quickly and staunchly he comes to Brandt's defence but at the same time doesn't take away the independence that Brandt has fought to gain over the past few years.
Overall, this is a great friends to lovers romance, it was so easy for me to get into and enjoy. There's a good cast of characters along the way, including some met in book one of this series so it was nice to get to interact with them again. Definitely another recommended read from this author.
Michael Franklin does another good job in narrating this series. One thing I would prefer is a little more difference in the voices given to the MC's so that I can tell them apart easier but I found it an easy story to listen to.

lovely story
I adored this book so I'm really happy it's now on audio. The author never fails to write sweet low angst story. This was such a lovely friends to lovers story. I loved the connection and chemistry between the characters. Lots of humour too. I loved how obsessed they were about scones. It was quite emotional at times too but I loved how supportive they were of each other. Just the perfect read 💜 I enjoyed the narration as well. it was sort of understated and sensitive which matched the story so well and I felt the emotions.

Vital Love
Keeping Kellan is a sweet contemporary romance and the second book in the Keeping Him series. It can be read as a standalone very easily, but the first book in this series is definitely worth reading.
The plot uses a childhood friends to adult lovers trope to perfection. The relationship between Brant and Kellan is so rich and full of history. The relationship angst is kept to a minimal, but there is a lot of family drama for Brant that broke my heart. I love Brant and Kellan’s resilience and how they supported each other. There were so many wonderful moments of achievement for each character.
The audiobook was narrated by Michael Franklin who does a nice job. There were some passionate moments and intense declarations that Michael performed well. The audiobook quality and product were great.

Book one was better.
The characters were OK and the general plot was alright but for me this was kinda disappointing. The pace moved way too slow. Like glaciel. The focus was largely on their jobs and the relationship just seemed to take a backseat. Even once they got together, which was a long wait, it still was way overshadowed by everything else going on. Also, too much fade to black and off book mentions of romance which the plot definitely could have used more of. I was more intrigued by the scenery being a fellow Canadian and the cute dog so that's probably not what the author was aiming for. I didn't hate it but I probably wouldn't recommend it.
Great narration. He had a pleasant reading voice, expressed the emotions well and I could easily tell the characters apart, making it a great listening experience.

A sweet friends-to-lovers romance - by Shana W
This was a sweet, low-angst friends-to-lovers story with likeable characters and a loveable dog. I felt that Kellan and Brant were very three dimensional, with well described personalities, jobs and outside relationships. I particularly enjoyed Kellan's relationship with Brant's sister. The narrator had a pleasant voice and did a good job of differentiating between the characters' voices; unfortunately, his reading was a little wooden, though it did seem to flow a bit better as the story progressed. I enjoy Aislin's writing and look forward to reading more by her in the future.

Love this series!
Another amazing book in this series! I was not expecting the time jump between Keeping Casey and Keeping Kellan but I really liked that we got to see Brant a little more grown up. There is about a five year gap between the end of the first book and the start of the second but it really does set up the story so well! And we finally get to meet the guy Brant has been in love with forever, the wonderfully sweet Kellan. While it was awful to see the kind of verbal abuse Brant had been subjected to over the years from his step-dad, I loved seeing Kellan stand up for Brant, something his own mother hadn't done. Brant also was able to help Kellan see that even though he had been burnt in the past by coworkers, he had to find someone he trusted to help him so he didn't burnout with his work. I loved getting to catch up with Ethan, Casey, Theo, and his boyfriend when they all came to visit Brant and Kellan! I hope we will see more of these guys in future books. One of my favorite parts of the book was the epilogue. I loved getting to see Brant and Kellan in the future and getting to see just how happy they are together! As with all of Amy Aislin's books, the writing is wonderful and the characters are amazing. The narration was truly wonderful and I loved that Michael Franklin narrated both books in this series. I would happily listen to this narrator again!

Life after hockey and life-long crushes
I had already read and enjoyed Keeping Kellan, so when I had the opportunity to receive and review the audiobook, I jumped at it. The book is a sweet, low-angst M/M romance with a friends-to-lovers trope, which picks up the storyline of one of the side characters in her previous book, Keeping Casey, whose main characters make a couple of cameo appearances in Keeping Kellan.
It’s clear to the listener early on that both characters are interested in one another, and it doesn’t take too long for them to realize that the interest is mutual. It turns out that most of the conflict is related to Brant’s family life, resulting from his mom’s re-marriage. It’s refreshing to have the MCs' relationship be pretty solid once they've coupled up, and to see them work through some of their individual problems together.
The narrator’s performance wasn’t my favorite. His cadence was a bit stilted, but it was okay once I got used to it.
I liked the characters and the story — and I was quite envious of Kellan’s home. Overall, a thumbs up!

Low angst friends to lovers
We meet Brant in book 1 way back as a college hockey player. We now fast forward to where he’s at a crossroads in his mid-20s after leaving an office job in the big city that was slowly crushing his soul for a chance to return to his beloved home town and become a tour guide. He is reunited with his sister’s best friend who he has had feelings for since high school that have never gone away. Brant moves in with Kellan and their relationship deepens long before they finally take the romantic plunge. Both Brant and Kellan are kind, loving, well developed characters and the progression from friends to lovers felt organic. Keeping Kellan is a very sweet low angst (a little parental angst), sister’s BFF love story. Michael Franklin delivers well again. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this audiobook.

Sweet story
This is a very sweet, low angst story. It's a great friends to lovers read. ( The angst comes from Brant's relationship with his mother and stepfather.) While I enjoyed the storyline, I felt that it truly needed a better narrator. There was very little emotion in the narrator's voice and it was boring at times. I hate to even say that because the story doesn't deserve it.

Great story
I really enjoyed reading this I found kellan and brant’s job pursuits interesting and was really happy with how quickly their relationship develop since it started as friends and there was a reasonable reason for them to hold off on starting a relationship that ended during the start of the book

LOVED
Will the timing ever be right for Kellan and Brant? Now that they are both finally in the same place we shall see!
I loved the chemistry and connection between these two. Having crushed on each other for years they are now finally acting on their attraction. An attraction that quickly turns into so much more.
This sweet, steamy friends to lovers/sister's best friend love story is just what the doctor ordered.
I loved every bit of it!
Michael Franklin does a wonderful job of bringing this story to life!
