Summary
For more than 35 years, Senator Clinton has made children her passion and her cause. Her long experience has strengthened her conviction that how children develop and what they need to succeed are inextricably entwined with the society in which they live and how well it sustains and supports its families and individuals. In other words, it takes a village to raise a child.
In her new introduction, Senator Clinton reflects on how our village has changed over the last decade, from the impact of the Internet to new research in early childhood development and education. She discusses issues of increasing concern (security, the environment, the national debt) and looks at where we have made progress and where there is still work to be done.
It Takes a Village has become a classic. As relevant as ever, this anniversary edition makes it abundantly clear that the choices we make today about how we raise our children and how we support families will determine how our nation will face the challenges of this century.

Passionate & so much insight!
This book moved me with the realization that our most cherished thing we have are our children, The “Village”, comprised of one’s local Town, State and Federal government must be there for the families who need help. We cannot just assume things will be OK. I’m making this required reading for my kids!

Too robotic to be a grammy award winner
Would you try another book from Hillary Rodham Clinton and/or Hillary Rodham Clinton?
Yes
What did you like best about this story?
I appreciate the important overall message of this book, and I'm glad Ms Clinton wrote it.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
Hillary has such a nice, clear voice - but her performance was distractingly robotic. I was so disappointed, I was expecting a grammy-worthy performance.
Do you think It Takes a Village needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No

Feels very dated, interesting to see how much has changed
Pretty stunning how our views have evolved on so many issues since this book, making it sound pretty in line with more moderate conservatives today.

Important Piece
This is an important piece reflecting both the state of affairs at the time of the writing and important timeless principles that are even more important in this digital age. HRC's narrative abilities have come a long way since this recording!

Everyone needs to read
I loved the book. It provides tremendous ideas about how everyone one of us is responsible for the next generation. Applicable to every nation.
If you want more of these ideas you need to read the book, as the audio version was greatly reduced.
