overall I liked the story but to wishy-washy
Overall I liked the story but a little to wishy-washy lovey dovey for me & I think the writer had a bet with someone as to how often he could get the word leonine into the story. The performance was top notch, so on the whole a good listen.

Unfortunately the bk didn't have the spark I like
Escaping Gravity
I liked the main character, Dillon Mackey right from the start. But eventually came to the conclusion that I wasn't actually in the right audience for this coming-of-age story... To me it was too info dumpy, and the action didn't take me to the edge... I never really believed that Dillon was ever in danger, or any of the other characters for that matter. Which in turn spoiled the big finish...
The book wasn't bad for the tale it tells, but as I said, I wasn't in the right audience.
"We are not running we are simply getting out of the way."
A Glimpse Beyond
I was really hoping that a Glimpse beyond would be better. That the info dumpy spots would be gone and they were. But for me the story simply doesn't have the spark it takes to ignite it.
But I still like Dillon and Ryan Kennard Burke is pleasant enough to listen too. And since I have the boxed set I'll prolly go ahead and finish the series, by reading A Clash of Empires.
A Clash of Empires
I felt that the love story kinda domineered this Scifi novel, and series. And even though it's touching, like ummmm I'm glad Dillon and Sherisza got together, but I had hoped for more Scifi in this book! And yeah my Scifi doesn't have to have hard science, I'm good with flim flam too. Anyway the book has a nice resolution.
