Summary
In a Dry Season is the 10th novel in Peter Robinson's Inspector Banks series, following on from Dead Right.
During a blistering summer, drought has depleted Thornfield Reservoir, uncovering the remains of a small village called Hobb's End - hidden from view for over 40 years. For a curious young boy, this resurfaced hamlet is a magical playground...until he unearths a human skeleton.
Detective Chief Inspector Alan Banks is given the impossible task of identifying the victim - a woman who lived in a place that no longer exists, whose former residents are scattered to the winds. Anyone else might throw in the towel, but Banks is determined to uncover the murky past buried beneath a flood of time....

Returning this !
I usually like Peter Robinson books, but am really struggling with this one... the narration is so boring & its hard to determine who it is meant to be 'speaking' ..
Am returning this based on the fact, that it is really boring, with the droning tone of the narrator.

Very entertaining.
I enjoyed this book tremendously.
Good characters. The only thing I didn't like was the female characters portrayed as "needy". if you can ignore that element of the author's style the book delivers. For that reason I can only give it 4 stars.

Not enough action
I found this a little dull if I'm honest. It seemed very slow and not that interesting. Love Banks' and Annie's characters though and the narrator is great. Finally dropped the Lancashire tilt he gave his Yorkshire voices.
