Worth a listen
It was quite clear this was a first time author but that didn’t stop me from being engrossed in the story. I felt uncomfortable and somewhat violated at some points of the book so I can only shiver at how this must have felt at the time.
This book was worth writing, it was a story that needed to be told and I’m sure there are many people out there who need to hear this.

injustice.
Very well written. I could feel the helplessness of the victim. The arrogance and complacency of the perpatrator. such a shame he went free to continue.

Unsettling
As I live in the uk I don’t know the full laws of each state , I have heard of the stature of limitations, you were so young and at his age he knew how to manipulate you and put fear in to you , I wish I’d have been your mum to help guide you through life and be there to hold you , I hope you and your family love a long healthy life and raise enough to fight that animal to have his rights taken away, I believe he fought it as another way of controlling you , fingers crossed for you

Not a story of kidnapping
I wanted to be on her side but she was not a victim. She was a woman who made poor decisions.

Description misleading
This story was so odd to me. The story didn’t match the description. As a side note- why the mention of the boyfriends penis? This really ended an odd book with an ick.

Ummm … This is Not a Kidnapping Story
Sure, this young, naive, and tragically incompetent young woman was severely manipulated and abused sexually and emotionally by her boss. It’s very sad and messed up but calling it “a true story of kidnapping and rape” is misleading. Also, serious WTF moments of her describing her now husband’s penis towards the end. This book is strange and at times starts to feel like covert Christian ant-abortion propaganda. In any case, I hope everyone involved in the real life events that inspired this book are getting professional help.

Not exactly what I expected
SPOILER ALER!!!!!!T When I purchased this book I really thought that it was a book about kidnapping, I am not trying to to take anything away from her story because a lot of what she went through was very traumatizing, and I do feel bad for her situation, however I couldn't get past the fact that she really could have got away several times. She was alone in the hospital with her friend and said, she just had a baby and she didn't want to make it her problem she was alone with her brother and he sensed that something was wrong but she didn't want to burden her brother at his young age of 16, and finally she was alone with her father and because he told her not to loose her good job so they can pay for the apartment she didn't want to tell her father. I was so angry because I had a really hard time feeling sorry for someone who appears (at least in my opinion) to have just made some really bad choices. Now I am not saying that this horrible man didn't rape her and treat her terribly but I had a hard time not just wanting to scream just run, I am sorry I was very disappointed with a lot of the decisions she made in this book like taking everything this man said ( a man she didn't trust by the way ) at face value. I just had a hard time getting through this book and I just didn't think it was a true kidnapping story
