Summary

Tiffany Aching, the young witch from The Wee Free Men, A Hat Full of Sky, and Wintersmith is back in a new adventure featuring Discworld characters both familiar to fans (such as Tiffany, the Wee Free Men, Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg) and new (meet Wee Mad Arthur, the Nac Mac Feegle on the City Watch whose only previous appearance was a brief cameo in Feet of Clay, and city witch Mrs Proust - a fabulous Pratchett creation).

Oh, and there's a magic book or two, a twist through time, a Cunning Man - and a Giant Man of chalk....

Perfect Pratchett

I've always loved the Discworld books and this one is no diffrent. The characters are as engaging, funny and, in some cases, mad as ever and the story is one you can really get into. It?s great to see how much Tiffany has grown since the fist time we met her (frying pan in hand) but how she is still very much the same person she?s always been.

i shall wear midnight again

having read many terry pratchett books, i was unsure about an audible version. the story would never be a problem, the narration could ruin it. but mr briggs is brilliant he brings the story alive you could almost see the wee free men. once i started listening i did,nt want to stop. a great listen

Pratchett at his best

I love Terry's Pratchett's books and over the years I can only conclude that he is getting better ! I Shall Wear Midnight is a beautifully written narrative of a young witch finding her way in life and coping with the difficulties of relationships, responsibilities and the inevitable numerous meetings with Death. The book made me laugh and cry, and I listened to it twice - back to back - as I was sure that the second hearing would add even more colour - which it did. The chapters were the right length for me on my 30min commute. Highly recommended - a great listen.

A nice tale

This is only my second audiobook, and I must say that I am hooked. The narrator takes you into the story and tells it so wonderfully. I am now looking at my back catalogue of Terry Pratchett books to see which one I want on audio.

I love the witchy books best of all

Although a total fan of Terry Pratchett, I do like his 'Witch' books best of all. This one, featuring Tiffany Aching is delightful. One thing I DO like about Terry Pratchett's writing, is that he is obvious a VERY sensible man, and his take on life is so logical. He makes fun of the daft inconsistencies of our world.

I do like Stephen Briggs best of the readers who narrate the unabridged Pratchetts, this, too, makes a difference to the listening enjoyment.

A jolly good use of a valuable credit.

Not his best

I've loved every Terry Pratchett book to date but was slightly disappointed by this one. The narration was excellent but the story was not as sharp as I've come to expect from him. I wondered whether the Alzheimer's was having an effect and the book was not pure Pratchett? Still good but slightly more of a children's story than any previous books including the 'children's stories'

A Pterry goodie

A good book to end the series, darker in nature than the other three but Tiffany has grown up and it shows, shame to see it end as collectively they have all been good, but that I suppose is a matter of opinion.

And the narration by Stephen Briggs brilliant as usual, with the range of character voices he uses you would not think it is the same person.

Tiffany growing up

Yes, perhaps needed for Tiffany's development as a character, but I hope she soon gets a sense of humour. She is soooo serious. Luckily there are other characters who lighten it up a bit. Love the new boyfriend.

Pratchett and Briggs maintain consistent quality

Tiffany Aching continues her progress towards mature "hagdom" - all the old favourite characters from this subseries are there and there are plotlines that prove that Tiffany's life is not destined to be a fairy tale.

Fun Read

Not as good as most of Terry pratchett's books but still a very fun book. The narration is great and the story is great and an easy listen. Love his books and enjoyed this one as well.
