Summary
Random House presents the audiobook edition of How to Grow a Baby and Push It Out by Clemmie Hooper, read by the author. Everything you wanted to know but were too embarrassed to ask - a guide to pregnancy and birth straight from the midwife's mouth.
Mum to four little girls and midwife to many, Clemmie Hooper wants to share her knowledge, wisdom and stories about pregnancy, birth and mothering young children that aren't so widely talked about - straight from the midwife's mouth. From how to prevent tearing during birth to what you really need in your labour bag, Clemmie reveals everything pregnant women and new mums need to know with a good dose of humour and wit.

Disappointing.
If you are a first time parent, have a partner, live in London, you are having a completely normal pregnancy and have the time and money to go on spa breaks then this book might help you.

Saccharine and bland
I don't think I actually learned much. This book is for average people who just want a little fluffy pep talk, not for anyone who considers themselves to be interested in actually learning science or medicine. It reads as compellingly as an NHS website. Where is the intelligent modern female discourse??!!?? You might end the book and feel like your IQ dropped a few ladders

An honest, practical and really lovely way to find out about pregnancy & birth
I am a first time expectant mum full of questions and unknowns.
I don’t remember how it was recommended to me but now highly recommend it to anyone who is pregnant. So so interesting , practical and helpful in explaining this huge life event. Just finished now and really sorry to not have Clemmys soothing voice to accompany me home in the car !

Loads of helpful real life stories
Really enjoyed this for its real life stories from mums and the general underlying theme that we're all different so no two pregnancies and births are the same. I also picked up loads of tips and tricks on the birth prep side of things. It's quite long but well worth a listen. It's helped me feel more in control of my final 10 weeks.

Covers things at a basic level
I agree with a lot of the reviews, it’s basic but helpful as an intro. I thought I wasn’t prepared and didn’t know much, but turns out I knew most things covered here. That’s reassuring. I definitely agree there’s a of advice that comes from a very privileged situation. My favourite bits were the birth stories from other mums.

Patronising
Book is geared for specific ‘calibre’ of pregnant people. Will be removing from library promptly particularly in light of recent news of authors gross misconduct.
