Summary

She was supposed to be dead.

When a chance invitation to a magical ball revives Lina’s spirit, but none of her memories, she’s left with more questions than answers. Lucky for her, she was also left with someone determined to help her uncover them.

With her Guardian, Nord, at her side Lina begins her search, but neither of them expected that the dangers of her past would resurface and threaten her future. A future she finds herself hoping will include the Viking-like man who makes her heart race.

As the details of Lina’s curse are finally revealed, will she and her Guardian be able to overcome the truth? Or will the secrets of their past destroy any chance they might have had at finding their happily ever after?

Spellbinding, sexy, and suspenseful, Hint of Danger is the first book in a new paranormal romance trilogy following a chance meeting at The Monster Ball. It's perfect for fans of overprotective alphas, smoldering sexual tension, and loads of banter. Thankfully, the ball was just the beginning for these two fated lovers.

Recommended for ages 18+ due to adult language, content, and scenes with graphic violence.

A must listen

This was my first Meg Anne book (if we don’t count the co-authored book I read last month) and it won’t be my last. And not just because it ended on a cliffhanger.
There is something compelling and captivating about Meg’s writing that kept me glued to my earbuds. Of course, I didn’t do any research, so wasn’t aware it ended on a cliffhanger, and is in fact, a true series. You know what that means? Yep! I’ve found a new series to binge. And I cannot wait.

Lina is a ghost who suddenly has a body. She doesn’t remember anything about her past. Enter Nord, a guardian, who instinctively knows she is his charge. As they work together to try and find out about Lina’s past, they’re attraction builds until it is undeniable. Nord tries to fight it, but Lina has other ideas. It’s a fun story of mystery, magic, murder, and attraction. A must listen.

Shane East and Stella Hunter perform this story in duet, and it is brilliant. Their voices complement each other perfectly. They give each character such a unique voice that it was easy to know who was speaking and when. The production came across as seamless and was a high quality listen.

I Loved It!

I missed reading the novella where we were introduced to the former ghost, Lina but as this is the start of a new series and it's in audio format I decided to listen to it, I'm so glad I did because it's beautifully written and narrated. The storyline is compulsive, once I started listening to this compelling, interesting, and exciting story I did not want to stop. Lina, has no memory of who she is, she knows she's not human but has no idea what she is? She also has a vague memory of being in danger, perhaps even murdered? On the bright side, she does have a sexy, hot Viking companion who has vowed to help and protect her. The interactions between these two are great, I'm enjoying the slow build-up of their relationship.

Meg Anne's writing style is easy to follow, it's very descriptive and as I was listening to the story I could close my eyes and it was like watching a movie as she painted all the characters, locations and actions with her words. This is my first book by her so obviously I hadn't read the Keeper Series but have since learned that the Brotherhood of Guardians who feature in this story are from that series - they were such interesting characters I may have to go and read that series too.

This is the beginning of a series and does end in a cliffhanger, one I did not see coming and one that had me screaming, no! I'm now totally hooked and must listen to book two as soon as possible.

The narration by Stella Hunter and Shane East is excellent and really added to my enjoyment of this compelling story.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

Great book

Lina is a spirit who doesn't remember anything about her life. She can't seem to interact with anything in the world but when she gets an invitation to a ball she found she could touch that.
Nord is a Guardian, he also gets an invite to the ball, but he has no interest in going. He does however go, with some persuading, and that is when he meets Lina. This is the start of a great hot and steamy book packed full of action scenes.

Both Shane and Stella does a great job on their charters they voice, and the background thoughts. They worked great together and having both a male voice and female voice helps bring the story to life so much more than if just one person read it.

Your heart will not survive with this excellent bo

Book 1 in the series . Wow what a story. Meg Anne the author wrote a gripping story . It’s paranormal but with mystery. And lots of unusual twists and turns. The world-building was is very well done and the descriptions given make it easy to visualise everything. Both the characters are very different but they are also very well drawn which makes them totally believable. I really loved this new listen.
Lina the heroine was quite a character, she went from being a ghost to the land of the living. Nord the hero knew what his purpose was, to protect Lina. Nord is not just any immoral, he belongs to a group , a brotherhood and they have a purpose. He’s also a berserker.
Lina keeps on seeing memories little by little but she can’t make sense of why she was murdered.
Grab it and see if Nord helps Lina slowly make sense.
Can’t wait for book 2
What more can I say about the performance of Shane East and Stella Hunter. They were perfect together. Shane doing all the male characters were perfect. Stella was perfect also.

Hooked right from the start

Absolutely loved this book. im captivated and thoroughly invested in the characters lives. The female lead is so much fun. The inner monologue is 'laugh out loud' material. I wasn't sure on the male lead at first but he grows on me by the minute. The bombshell at the end of this book will have you scrambling to download the next -trust me!. *clicks download* he he

Unusual and really enjoyable

I received a free copy of this audiobook in return for an honest review.

I didn't know what to expect with this book, but I absolutely loved it. Fun and interesting characters, a good story with mysteries to ponder and great narration. I've only listened to one other book with duet narration before and in that one the switching between narrators in the dialogue was distracting and broke up the flow of the story. There was none of that here though, the narrators did a great job and the story flowed smoothly. I thoroughly recommend this book and I'm really looking forward to listening to book 2!

book 1 - Undercover Magic

So, let me first start by saying I read these out of order - I listened to book 2 before book 1 - I don't recommend doing that - this book is so great and such an intro that, while I loved book 2, I would have loved it even more! Dual narration is sublime! I love, love, love it! We get a great feel for our main characters - Lina and Nord. Lina comes out with sweetness and sass, I love her character, someone who just wants to love life! Nord is so protective and domineering - a sexy bad ass. I love their dynamic, sweet, steamy and their cheeky banter is so fun. Mystery and danger surrounds Lina and Nord and his partner are determined to get to the bottom of.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Insta-love

3.5 stars

I love this story, really. The mystery is so well done, it kept you interested all the time. I must say, please keep going and don't give up at the beginning, it gets the better. I had problems with the romance part, the insta-love is very strong and the pace is slooooow, I like the opposite. But the story is really well written and enjoyable.

Hint of Danger

I really enjoyed listening to this book. Shane and Stella did an amazing job in this duet narration. Lina and Nord have an instant connection and attraction. Lina can't remember her past. Nord has sworn to protect her. This book grasped my attention from the beginning and held it all the way to the end. This book ends on one heck of a cliffhanger. I can't wait for book 2!

A good story, little slow in the middle

I enjoyed the story, the start (prequel) with the monster ball was great, nice and steamy, with great female power and confidence going on. I enjoyed the characters and their evolving relationships, I enjoyed the story and want to know what happens, but it felt a little slow in the middle sometimes. Plus I found the mc was a little weak willed at times compared to how she started.
Generally a good listen though and I look forward to book 2!

Swoon worthy

Meg Anne does a brilliant job with this book but the combination of Shane East and Stella Hunter narrating magnifies the action packed, steaminess bundled into this story. Let’s just say this audiobook is swoon worthy and drool worthy. 😂 Fabulous! Highly recommended! 💜🖤

Loved Hint of Danger

I have a book hangover. I really liked Nord and Lina. They are a great pair. I loved the interactions between them and the banter. Their story captured my attention from the beginning and kept it throughout. The ending left me needing to know more. I can’t wait to see how their characters grow and develop in the next book and where their journey will take them.

I also really loved that their story is a duet narration. Shane East and Stella Hunter did a fantastic job. Their voices complement each other. Together they added a layer of depth to this tale. It made it feel almost tangible, as though you’re right there with Lina and Nord.

Magical, suspenseful and swoon worthy!

I’m so glad to have won this ALC because it led me to discover an awesome book and a great new author. I loved Meg Anne’s writing and was immediately captivated. From the mysterious and magical Monster Ball in the prequel to the suspenseful ending, I couldn’t stop listening to Lina and Nord’s story. Lina is a strong, feisty woman who has no memories of her past but doesn’t let that stop her from finding out who she really is and going after what she wants. Her connection with Nord at the Ball is immediate and intense. Nord is a strong, sexy, Viking-like Guardian who is protective and possessive of Lina and has a mysterious past of his own. I enjoyed the journey of uncovering their mysteries and watching their slow burn – and boy does it burn! I can’t wait to discover more about Lina’s past and watch them face the potential dangers that lie ahead. Anxiously waiting for the next audiobook in this series!

On a side note, I really enjoyed the supporting characters as well. In fact, I admit to having a bit of a crush on Finley, Nord’s best friend. He’s charming, charismatic and the perfect sidekick for Nord. I’m also intrigued by the lovely and enigmatic Quinn. When the side characters make you hope they get a story of their own, you know they are well-written.

The duet narration by Stella Hunter and Shane East was excellent! Stella perfectly captured Lina’s vulnerability as well as her strength and fearlessness. Shane’s performance was mesmerizing and I melted at his growly accent and whispers. As the book states, his voice sounded like velvet and gravel….a swoon worthy combination in my opinion!

Couldn't finish

The majority of the book was the female character whining & desperate for attention. The male character acted like he wasn't interested. Of course he's rich and takes her shopping which lasted a few chapters. It could have been a good story without all the silly fluff that took away from it. The whole story is a mystery but 8 hours nothing gets figured out or moves forward.

My new addiction!

LOVED this book! I thought the premise was original and the character development was excellent. Lina was a ghost for so long she forgot anything about herself and her life before she died. After she was magically brought back to life she finds he guardian and they embark on a dangerous adventure to find out who she is and who killed her.

Magic, mystery, and delicious slow burn

Magic, mystery, banter for days, a hot Viking Berserker, and the most delicious slow burn. Lina is given a second chance at life, even though she doesn’t remember her first chance. At the mysterious Monster Ball on Halloween, she’s determined to live to the fullest, not knowing how much time she might have, and she meets Nord, Viking Berserker and guardian - apparently HER guardian. Their chemistry is instant, and it is scorching, but her lack of memory brings out his protective instinct, even if it’s from himself, and so begins the slow burn.

The primary mystery, who was Lina, and what happened to her, slowly unfurls itself, in snippets of memory and terrifying dreams. As Nord, and his best friend, and fellow guardian , Finley, try to help her uncover the truth of her past, they are welcomed with more and more questions. This book ends on a great cliffhanger, perfect to lead into book 2, and set up a fantastic storyline going forward.

The secondary characters are fantastic as well. Finley is a great character - the perfect compliment to Nord, classic, well tailored, and confident, and the banter between him and pretty much everyone he meets is fantastic. We meet a couple other characters that will most definitely become important as the series continues - they are too good not to, including the Fae night club owner Crombie, the mysterious Alastair, and Quinn. Looking forward to watching all these pieces come together.

Audiobook Note: The narrators are fantastic. The duet style is wonderful, and I couldn’t recommend the audiobooks for this series more. The characters are given so much dimension and depth. Shane East is the perfect Nord, capturing the masculine and accented voice so well, as well as providing wonderful voices for the other male characters, including Finley. Stella Hunter lends a beautiful voice for Lina, strong, confident, sassy, and seductive. Overall, just pure joy to listen to.

Fun listen!

The narrators Shane East and Stella Hunter did a phenomenal job portraying the characters, Lina and Nord. I loved hearing from both of their POVs and seeing how they felt about each other. If you’re looking for a new book boyfriend you will find him in Nord. I enjoyed the mystery surrounding Lina and the magical elements as well. Looking forward to listening to the next installment.

Audio Convert

This was so fantastically done! I was not an audio book person but when one of my favorite authors (and people) said "Hey you should give this a try", I did. It did not disappoint!! I already fell in love with the story when I physically read the book. Shane & Stella brought these characters to life. You couldn't have picked better voice actors. If you love paranormal/fantasy books then you should pick up this one!

So great

I absolutely loved loved dual narration in this story! They did a fantastic job of bringing Nord and Lina to laugh! The story itself was so much fun, with humor, mystery, and the perfect amount of slow burn steam! There was a twist at the end that I just didn't see coming! This was a great listen, and I can't wait to jump into Book 2!
