Summary
When civilization ends - when hundreds of millions of the dead return to eat the living - how will the remaining humans survive?
One week ago, there were over 300 million people living in America. Today there are less than 5,000. After a man-made plague destroys the population, cities burn and the government crumbles when the dead come back to life as flesh-hungry zombies. Wim, a 30-year-old farmer, purposely kept himself cut off from other people, but when the undead arrive at his farm, intent on eating him, he's forced to venture out into the land around him and fight to save a world on which he long ago turned his back. Survivors from all walks of life - criminals and fry cooks, teenagers and soldiers - battle to survive zombies and each other as mankind races toward extinction.
Book one in the epic Life of Dead zombie apocalypse saga.

If your a fan of zombie apocalypse stories then this is a good start to a series of books I found the narration very robotic to start but I preserved and found as it went that the narrator got better and better and started to notice the different characters he was preforming this book has left me eager to start the next.

Boring nonsense
I like this genre but this one is not a story. No characters to invest in and root for, just a series unrelated deaths of frankly repulsive characters you are usually glad to see the back of. Will not be following this series any further. Narrator does a reasonable job with poor story.

The number of characters make following the story confusing.
As zombies stories go I find this one pretty decent. My only negative being that the high number of characters makes it hard to follow and remember who is who.

An Awesome Zombie Epic
I received this book via a promo code and this is my voluntary review.
When SHTF and Zombie's rise it seems it's best to be a farmer, with odds like 300 million people reduced to 5000 vs Zombies it does not look good for our survivors. It did often feel like there were too many characters to keep track of and with better structuring it wouldn't have been such a big deal but no matter the situations all characters have the same goal, staying alive.
Well written and with masterful narration by Eric Bryan Moore (first time I've listened to one of his performances) this was a great read.

Not for me.
I tried a few times to listen to this but gave up at the 30% mark. This time I made it to 65% and gave up and am finally admitting defeat. I just couldn't get into this because I just can't connect with the characters, there are way too many, and I don't really care anymore about what happens to them. I had to rewind parts to see who was talking and at that stage I just had to give up.
Eric Bryan Moore had plenty of tones for the characters and read this well. I enjoyed his narration and will check out more by him.
I was voluntarily provided this audiobook for free from the author, narrator, or publisher. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.

Really good start to a series
Any additional comments?
I was looking forward to this book and was not disappointed at all. I really enjoyed it. The combination of the story and the narrator pulled me in immediately and held my attention until the last sentence.
While this is not an original story or concept it's an entertaining, engaging, very enjoyable and good solid start to a series. The story is told through several different character POV's that eventually merge. Even though it switch's between the different characters and story-lines setting up the overall story I had no problem following each one. It was done at the right time and I didn't feel lost when it switched back and forth. That being said, I don't think all the characters were necessary and would have liked to have had more of the story revolve around Wim and what he was dealing with. You create this interesting good guy character that is immediately likable and everyone is rooting for but leave everyone hanging waiting to get back to his story. Now that Wim and Reamy (?) have connected the story will hopefully settle a bit and follow them for the most part. Not all of the characters introduced survive this first book but they each add something to the story.
You may never look at someone with a common cold the same way again. Who would think a case of the sniffles would herald the beginning of the end for the world.
As soon as I was done with this one I looked to see if the next installment was available. Unfortunately it wasn't. Really looking forward to the next installment.
This is the first time I have listened to a book narrated by Eric Bryan Moore or so I thought. Imagine my surprise when I started this book, I don't care what name you go by that voice is unmistakable! I knew immediately who this narrator was. It was a pleasant surprise. I have listened to and enjoyed many other books that he has narrated. Great voice. Easy to listen to for long periods of time and perfect for this story. Clearly spoken with a nice even pace. Great character voices. He was able to bring the characters and story to life through his narration. Very enjoyable.

Zombies!
The opening scene really grabs you. Then the story slows a little but picks back up mid-way. Didn't necessarily like the way the characters were introduced so separately, but when they finally came together, it got good. Plenty of action.
The narrator does an excellent job. The characterization is great. Characters are very distinct and the performance was lively. Just really well done.

A lot of Meh
I gave it 2 books. Overall the characters were juvenile, regardless of age. but worst of all is the predictability of the story. For me it was uninspired and a bad retread of old tropes. And the narrator for the second book changes leaving much to be desired.

Hell on Earth
Any additional comments?
A terrorist has l released a biohazard which is extremely toxic and easily spread. We have a mishmash of characters , very well written, with the story of their survival. Lots of action, close calls and thousands of zombies. Zombies role the earth .. an exciting audiobook to listen to.

Gruesomely written
I love this narrator he did an excellent job. I have heard him in a few other books and liked him in those as well.
Now on to the story: this story was very gruesome great detail was taken to describe many things. The story started out well but seemed to slow in the middle but thankfully picked up.
though I did enjoy this story, there were a lot of characters. Almost too many to keep straight.
It seemed every chapter had a different character that really didn't tie it to the others. It got confusing. Towards the end some started finding each other. I would think that this first book was just getting to know all of the characters not a lot of zombie action. As I said, it was a good book I wish I had more actions and less characters build up.
I'm hoping this was because it is the first in a series.
I think before I head onto the second book, I will wait to see what the reviews say

Zombies are here time to be food or survive
The zombie apocalypse is here. Follow a diverse group of people from many walks of life. Take their different views on what's going on. Some will survive. Some won't. Some may meet and then what will happen. Traditional zombie story with a few novel points to it. Great listen. Descriptive Writing, Excellent Performance!
I have to say i was pleasantly suprised and am looking forward to the next chapter.
Tony Urban sets a very detailed world that steers the imagination left right and sideways. The story is reminiscent of the the beginnings of TWD and sets up many diverse characters/storylines right from the beginning.
Eric Moore's performance of the book is excellent. His eloquent storytelling brought out the emotions of the moment in the story and really carried me in the first few chapters while the storylines were being set up. Then as momentum built I felt like i was listening to an old time radio serial and couldnt wait to hear the next chapter for each character.
If you are a fan of the zombie genre described like you are there in the moment, The Hell on Earth series is one to follow.
