Summary

Under normal circumstances bohemian, skint Izzie would never have met Maddy, a Gucci-clad, Beemer-driving urbanite.

But when they are dumped in the English countryside, fish out of water, with five young children between them, they discover a shared hatred of ghastly ladies' lunches and a longing for the mucky London streets and residents' parking permits they've left behind.

Then a tragedy, and a chance discovery, leads Maddy and Izzie iinto a surprising new direction ...

Enjoyable escapism!

Would you consider the audio edition of Goodbye, Jimmy Choo to be better than the print version?

Although I love reading, I am very slow. It takes me quite a while to read even an average size book. Goodbye Jimmy Choo was a delight to listen to and really let me enjoy the story easily.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love the relationship Maddy and Izzy have. I liked Maddy the best, not afraid to admit that motherhood is hard and always reaching for the half finished bottle of wine after a hard day!

What does Jilly Bond bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Jilly Bond's narrative is so enjoyable. So expressive and with such enthusiasm that I would actually be more likely to listen to an audio book if she were the narrator.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listen to my audio books on my daily commute to and from work. There were times when I was actually loathed to arrive home at the end of the day, as I just wanted to keep listening and see what would happen to Maddy and izzy next!

Goodbye Jimmy Choo but Hello to Annie Sanders

This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. The plot was fun and entertaining without being sickly or twee. Add to that the twists of fate and hilarious antics of the main cast and you've got a really lovely read. Jilly Bond read it very well and the characters were clear and easily separated. I'm going back for more and can imagaine this is a re-reader in my library

Good-bye Jimmy Choo by Ann Sanders

Wonderful book, kept me wondering what was going to happen next. All good things of course, sheer chick lit but I loved it.

Irresistible!

Laugh out loud but very poignant and inspiring as a tale and irrepressibly read by the brilliant Jilly Bond. Felt bereft of my friends when it finished. More from this author and narrator please!

something a bit different

more complex and intelligent that most chick lit it can take some time to get into, and at the beginning at least isn't sweetness and light however mid way thru the story begins to fire. the two main characters are very similar and the performance of milky bond is better than some of her others I have listened to, however I do not think she can do male voices.
