Summary

Pulsing with passion, adventure, and paranormal suspense and romance, the latest novel in award-winning and New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Zanetti’s Dark Protectors series delivers an immortal hero and a dream come true...

Love and danger...

For most of his life, Vampire-Demon Garrett Kayrs, nephew of the King of the Realm, has carried a heavy mantle of responsibility with ease and control. Fate declared him heir to the throne, Fortune marked him with the power of the mysterious circle of Seven, and Chance promised more surprises to come. Nothing deterred him from his path. Until the nightmares began—agonizing dreams of having a female, the female, his mate, on the back of his motorcycle—only to have her torn away from his protection. He feels the menace around her, the danger she’s in, and he can’t rest until he finds her...

Duty and desire...

Destiny Applegate bears the weight of her name with a respectful balance of fear and purpose. She has been given some direction, but not nearly enough to truly understand her duty, what she was born to do. Even as a child, she had a sense of him. The him, her mate. A dream moment or two with him that might have saved her—or possibly cursed her. So now, when he finds her, she has no choice but to jump on the back of his bike and do her best to hold on until she discovers her path—even if that means ending his.

🌻This narrator ruined a decent book🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

I was really looking forward to Garret’s book, unfortunately, the narrator seriously impacted this book, Negatively. First, her performance of the male voices made them sound like teenage boys, instead of the alpha males they are supposed, to be.
Next, I often wonder why a new narrator, to a series, wouldn’t take a few minutes to listen to a sample of a previous book, in the series, to make sure that they are pronouncing unique words the same as they have, previously. For example, the word curgen. This narrator pronounced the word with the emphasis on the gen instead of the cur. This mispronunciation is a total distraction during the entire story. Ughhh!

I really wish they would return to the original narrator, or better yet, us duet narration.

My only other complaint is that the end of this book is rather anticlimactic, the
Book just seems to end instead of having a true conclusion.

I still love the series, and therefore, this book can’t be skipped, however, it was a bit of a disappointment.

Garrett

As a long time fan of this series I have been waiting for this book for YEARS! It was amazing to get to see Garrett’s whole life progress through this series. From birth , childhood, and becoming the amazing man he is it was an first for me. He really is my most beloved character in this series. And with that being said this book totally did him justice. Dessie was a breath for fresh hair. I absolutely loved her and their chemistry together was fire. Amazing story

This was the book that I impatiently waited for

I couldn't wait to Listen to The book but then the narrator started to read and she made it Almost painful to listen to this audio book. The narrator sounded robotic through most of the story and she didn't pronounce the character's names correctly and she turned me off to the story. The narrator made me not like the story as much as I normally would with the previous narrator named Gabra Zackman.
This book left allot of unanswered questions about allot of characters too. What was to become of the relationship between Hope and Paxton; and what happened with Paxton's uncle; I was also under the impression that the women who were the keys, would have a greater role in bringing down Ulrich; the keys had such a small part in the fight. Allot of holes are left in the overall story and alleged ending. I was disappointed.

Slightly Disappointed

I don't usually write reviews but I couldn't help myself this time. I have read all of Rebecca's books. This is the 1st book that I have listened to on audible. This narrator did not make the story an enjoyable experience for me. Everyone sounds like teenagers and I don't understand why Garrett's voice would change between talking to Desi in a "gruff voice" then switch to a kid voice when talking to Talen. The narration was so bad it almost made me feel like Rebecca did not write a great story. In my opinion, they should have waited for a different narrator even if that meant delaying the release of the audio book. This narration was a disservice to everyone that loves Rebecca's books. I recommend reading this book versus listening to the audio.

Not right narrator for this book

Loved the story, but would pay to buy it again with a different narrator. I'm sure she has done excellent work, but this book was not her area.

Nope

The narrator was one of worst I heard. The protagonists didn't do it for me. Nearing the end of this series, thank god.

Love the story, just not the narrator

I was really excited for this book, and while I loved the story, the narrator kind of ruined it for me. This is one of my favorite series to listen to but I don’t think I’ll be able to listen to this one again. The way she does the male voices is pretty bad all around, and the way she pronounces Kurjan is different from the way every other narrator pronounces it and that just bugs me. I think next time I’ll just have to read the book.

Love Garretts story ..

This is an excellent read and continuation of the story line. . But I do not care for the narrator at all. The previous reader was much better with the voices , this read the voices sound to low and raspy …

Narrator ruined it for me

I love the series and was so looking forward to Garrett’s story, but found it long drawn and abruptly ended. Would’ve liked an epilogue at the end to have something to look forward to. Who’s next Hope? I should’ve listened to my gut and bought the book to read instead. The narration on this was worst than the previous narrator (who was also bad). Garret did not sound like the formidable being that he was, instead he sounded like a 12-year old going thru puberty. And Ulrich? He sounded like a ghost of Christmas past. I would recommend that you buy the kindle or book version instead to read.
