Summary

I fell in love with a boy a long time ago. I was only a small girl. Scared and frightened, I was taken from my home and held against my will. His father hurt me, but he protected me and kept me safe as best he could. Until I left him. I ran the first chance I got, and even though I knew he wasn't behind me, I didn't stop. The branches lashed out at me, punishing me for leaving him in the hands of a monster. I've never felt such guilt in my life.

Although I survived, the boy was never found. I prayed for him to be safe. I dreamed he'd be all right and come back to me. Even as a young girl I knew I loved him, but I betrayed him. Twenty years later, all my wishes came true. But the boy came back a man. With a grip strong enough to keep me close and a look in his eyes that warned me to never dare leave him again. I was his to keep after all. Twenty years after leaving one hell, I entered another. Our tale was only just getting started. It's dark and twisted.

But that doesn't make it any less of what it is. A love story. Our love story.

I won't forget you

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I have recommended this audiobook to several people. I can usually guess who did what in a story. Not this time.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jay was my favorite character. I felt like he needed someone to care about him.

Have you listened to any of Christian Rummel and Erin Maguire ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I am a fan of both narrators. So much emotion came through. Made me feel as if I knew these people personally.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Life isn't always how it appears to be.

Any additional comments?

Willow Winters is a master mind when it comes to suspense and thrillers. Her characters come to life. They make you truly believe.

MC is intolerably pathetic.

The twist at the end was fun, and there were a COUPLE of steamy parts, but I simply could not get over how wimpy and useless the main character is. This is truly a story for women with a victim mindset. She “betrays” the love of her life (but, predictably, you find out she really didn’t, sigh, what an opportunity to give this character any depth). She’s a psychologist and keeps repeating how she can “help” the protagonist, but all she does the entire story is beg and whine and feel guilty. The male voice actor sounds hot and I like the dominance and submission aspects, but overall not a recommend.

Wow

This story wow. This is a cruel world, and there are so many bad things that can happen. To read of the troubles of John and robin from the beginning to end just mind blowing. Personally I think a great book always has a twist and one you figure out the twist of this story your mind is blown. But it is great that even with the mind blowing hardship between our characters it is a great love story that anyone would fall for. Such a great book!!

Surprisingly Good Twist on Love Story!

This was a Different Love Triangle then I have ever read. It was Perfrect mix of Suspense and Sweet! a little Confussing at first but if you stick with it till the end It will all come together and be So worth the credit. The two male character's have an inner Battle between the connection and loyalty they have for each other and their Love for the Heroine. The Heroine's Love for the 2 men and her strength to keep them both in her life is awe inspiring.

Not my kind of romance

I'm a Christian Rummel fan, so I cam for him. But t his is a dark "romance" that really centers on a man with DID who kidnaps a woman who shared his childhood trauma. Yeah... the book thinks it's too clever by half, and it's just not the think I'm looking for. Not even Rummel could save this for me, and he's fantastic.

Good listen

It was easy to listen to and just get sucked in. It’s got some twists but overall would definitely recommend. This is also my first Willow book and I am looking forward to reading more!

Fascinating story!💜

This story was a pleasant surprise. I always expected it to be another great Willow Winters story but I never expected all the twists & turns in this dark romance. So much despair as well as heart wrenching moments and yet a surprising love story that I didn’t see coming.
The narration was beyond stellar. Both narrators performed brilliantly.
This is book 1 with an HEA and can be read as a standalone.
I highly recommend this book.

Heavy Duty!!!!

Whoa!! Forget Me Not by Willow Winters was a really dark, deep read. This isn't your light happy go lucky love story, but there is a HEA, thank goodness!. Definitely a deep dark pool of pain and angst. But, it's really good, and has some definite twists that you'll likely start to guess, but just won't be positive until the end! New narrators for me, Erin Macguire and Christian Rummel, but they did a good job with some difficult subject matter.
