Summary
There are three kinds of people in Honeybridge, Maine: The Honeycutts, who know a lot about love and loyalty; The Wellbridges, who think they’re the epitome of wealth and refinement; and the rest of the Honeybridgers, who know better than to get in the way of the centuries-old rivalry between the two.
There wasn’t a time when I didn't know Flynn “Firecracker” Honeycutt.
He’s been my childhood friend. My high school rival. The guy I couldn’t stop dreaming about, long after I thought I’d left him and Honeybridge in my rear-view mirror.
Now he’s the key to the giant promotion that can make or break my career…if I can just convince the man to give me the distribution rights for his award-winning mead.
Unfortunately, that’s easier said than done.
Flynn’s not the guy he used to be. His gorgeous eyes used to spark with dreams and fire, but now he looks at me with cold fury. And just like Achilles had his heel and Samson had his hair, I had Flynn Honeycutt, the one man I’d never been able to charm, despite an entire life spent winning people over.
I’m not giving up, though. Because I’m not the kid I used to be, either. And because, if the two of us can survive a long, hot summer filled with his family’s crazy antics and my mother’s single-handed determination to keep the Wellbridge-Honeycutt feud alive, there might just be a chance for both of us to get what we want:
A new dream.
The fulfillment of an old town legend.
And another chance to spark Firecracker to life.
More from the same

Nothing but misunderstandings
Honestly, they're both incredibly annoying.
They keep talking and bragging about how much they know each other, but they clearly have no idea who they are. Their relationship and communication skills are lower than a 14-year-old.
The entire book is about them making the dumbest assumptions, then regretting making assumptions, only to make even dumber assumptions so they can regret them and make more, all while mopping around.
If they spoke to each other like adults at least once without cutting each other mid-sentence, shushing, or running away, this book would've been 50 pages long.

Perfect start to a new series
I loved everything about this, but Lucy and May are a magical team when they write together.
The two prominent families were so different. The Honeycutts seem so loving, and some are on a different planet. But each family member could have a story. The Wellbridges, well, they think they own Honeybridge. A great read and an even better listen.
Yet again, Michael dean does an incredible of narrating this book, although, as usual, I sped it up to 1.15 on audible.

Spectacular start to a new series
Ahh, yes to this family feud and these two men at odds. Finn & JT are seriously so hot and steamy. Their relationship and navigating their history is so interesting and I couldn’t wait to find out more. Lucy and May, you did it again by creating an amazing small town and bringing it to life with sweet and wonderful characters. I cannot wait to get to know the Honeycutt family more and I adore these two men. JT is amazing and I’m so happy Finn got his HEA.
Michael Dean was the perfect voice to bring these two to life and I love his fun voices for the townspeople. Amazing listen.

Small town rivalry meets second chance romance!
JT Wellbridge and Flynn Honeycutt grew up together in their small town of Honeybridge where their families have maintained a feud for generations. Before this book, they had a one night stand together that ended in heartbreak for everyone involved, and they hadn't seen one another since. When JT's boss sends him back home to convince Flynn to let their company partner with his successful mead business, the two are forced together and sparks fly again.
This book had a lot of character growth for both of these characters. Flynn had to learn to trust JT again and accept help from those around him with his business. He had always been that kid who had to be responsible for his siblings, and I think JT, his siblings, and the people who work for him really propelled him into realizing he didn't have to have the world on his shoulders; others were willing to be there for him. JT also had to learn that he could be his own person and he wasn't just the Wellbridge name; he could pursue work he actually wanted to do and help people.
I really loved this small town setting. It was so atmospheric and I felt like I knew all the people they would interact with in my own life. I think the setting really influenced my love of this book, along with the characters of course, but something about the way this family feud and how the people in this community would joke about how JT and Flynn have clearly been obsessed with one another from day one really hit the mark for me.
These two really were grade A with the witty banter. The way they would tease one another and how everyone around them kind of just accepted it as normal behavior for these two was so funny to me. I loved hearing all the stories from their past of how they made each others lives inconvenient as a clear form of flirting for them. I just liked when they talked to each other and it truly felt like all the history together made them getting together seem inevitable. These two men have been intertwined their entire lives, but it wasn't until now that they finally got the opportunity to be something real.
I can't wait to read more books in this series, and I am super excited to see what happens for other characters in these various families!

Decent, but a Maine Native can nit-pick
I love a novel set in my home state, and they are nearly always an automatic buy for me.
This start to a new series made me laugh and ultimately care about the characters, and I am looking forward to seeing how the authors grow the next books because I see lots of potential fun stories!
My gripes are not obvious to anyone who has no reason to know but are all in the pronunciation of locations.
The way Michael Dean is saying Ogunquit is going to drive me crazy if he doesn't get it right in any future books the town mentions.
UH-GUN-QUIT.
Like Fun...which if you know Ogunquit...is the perfect setting for this genre!! 🔥🔥😋😋
Anyway... all narrators should do proper research on the correct pronunciation of towns they have never been to.
Mistakes like this instantly take a listener out of the zone if they know it is wrong. Yes, I can tolerate it- but if it can be done right, it should be.
All in all, I am glad I listened and look forward to the next!

Love
Two of my favorite authors and I wasn't disappointed. I laughed often, nearly cried a couple times, wanted to Gibbs smack everyone except Castor and MacLean at least once.. This was so very satisfying, but now I have to wait for the others../sigh
