Summary

The judge has spoken...everyone must die.

When a killer starts murdering lawyers in a prestigious law firm, and every lead takes them to a dead end, Detective Chief Inspector Whitney Walker finds herself grappling for a motive. What links these deaths, and why use a lethal injection?

Alongside forensic psychologist, Dr. Georgina Cavendish, they close in on the killer, while all the while trying to not let their personal lives get in the way of the investigation.

For fans of Rachel Abbott, Angela Marsons, and M A Comley, Final Verdict is the sixth book in the Cavendish & Walker crime fiction series.

Critic reviews

"Narrator Clare Corbett flawlessly creates the accents and setting of Lenchester, England, while introducing Detective Chief Inspector Whitney Walker and her polar opposite, psychologist Georgina Cavendish.... Corbett's best creation is pathologist Clare Dexter whose eccentricities add a bit of levity. The well-rendered step-by-step procedural, with its gripping conclusion, makes for an exceptional listen." (AudioFile Magazine, review of Cavendish & Walker)

Enjoyable but not one of her best

Not the best storyline. Somewhat disjointed. Difficult to see the point of some of the sub-plots, felt like padding.

But still enjoyable and the relationship between Whitney and George is still entertaining.
Clare Corbett's narration is, as always, superb.

So believable.

Loved all the characters and to keep up to date in each book with their personal, as well as their professional lives. A nice human touch. I wish the word please could be used more frequently by Whitney. I accept that she is a senior officer and gives orders but she supposedly has such a good relationship with her team that I think she would be inclined to not bark orders.

loved it

Sally Rigby is a new author for me and I'm loving this series. apparently I have spent 6 months of my life listening to audiable and that has only been in the last 3 years. as such I have listened to many books. most of the books I read are around 10-14 hours long so these are quite short in comparison. this however doesn't mean these books are any less valuable. in comparison to other books of simular size and genre Sally has done an excellent job. of course there is some repetition in each book but that is only to be expected so as they make sense to readers that pick up the books part way through the series. the stories are exciting and engaging. these are books that you would categorise as interesting and easy reading.
the narrator reads the books well and they wouldn't be the same without her. the only gripe is the Brummy accent eek.

Can’t Get Enough of Cavendish & Walker

I just love these books.. the characters are very more-ish! Ok the plots of each book in the series take a similar thread but I don’t mind at all! My only real criticism is that they’re just too short…

Love these stories!

I love these stories, they’re fun and grilling although I am staring to finding them slightly repetitive.
