another comfortable fantasy

it's hard to beat romance and angels....

Loses a star for being occasionally frustrating - I mean, I know Luce is only 17, but she can be pretty dumb when it comes to making the right call when it comes to boys. Also, plot a little too convenient/predictable at times, however, that said, if you're a fan of this genre, then this is another comfortable fantasy/romance.

Narration is good.

You'll fall right into the story

This book lives up to its title in every way. The reader is drawn in from the beginning, and from there, it's a headlong plunge into the world of Lucinda Price. Beautifully written, with a colourful scope of characters, this book is a must for any lovers of the paranormal. The end will leave you literally begging for the sequel!

Excellent, a promising start to the series

I was very pleasantly surprised upon finishing this book - I immediately wanted to go on to the next one to continue the story! I am sure I am outside the intended audience for this book, being a good few years older than a teenage girl, but I was hooked.

The writing is of a high quality, the story moves on quickly without being too obvious as to where things are heading ( I hate it when I can quess the ending a mile away) and the plot is not too unbelievable (crucial in a supernatural romance). The characters are fully realised, I feel I can picture them all in my head, which helps me to follow the story.

The narration is also very well done, pitched very well considering the age of the characters and the range required. I found it very easy to follow and well paced.

My only criticism is that the ending seems to come in a slight rush, which negates the excellent build up of tension that precedes it.

I have already added the next two books in the series (Torment and Passion) to my wishlist, and eargerly await the release of the fourth (Rapture) next year.

Glad that I took time to listen ...

... but I wouldn't pay full price for it.
It was a good story to listen too but (and I don't know if this is because I've been tainted with the Twilight Saga's excellence) I found it a bit toothless at times and almost as though it is a story written to try and sail in the wind of Twilight. HOWEVER, I do intend to invest some more time in listening to the sequels but will be waiting until there is a special offer on.

I had read a physical copy before, but listening to it bring every one alive even more. it helped me to escape when I was on overload and drew me in with every new chapter. I can't wait to finish the series again

Really good.

I’ve had this book on my physical shelf for years now and have not had the motivation to pick it up, I saw it was on here and thought I would finally read/ listen to it and honestly it’s so good! Although the main character does really annoy me sometimes which makes sense for main characters in these types of book’s similar to twilight are just so bland and annoying but overall it’s amazing and can’t wait to listen to the rest of the series :)

Not to shabby 👌🏽

I highly recommend this book to teenagers who are into strong love stories 💕
This is probably the best book out of the series , nice easy book to under stand
Some cliff hangers here and there but I wouldn’t say this book stood out to me as being one of my favourite book but it is worth the money / credit ❤️

Decent, but wouldn't revisit.

There were some very entertaining ideas here and I did finish the audiobook. If you enjoyed Twilight this is probably up your street, but the characterisation wasn't quite there. Some characters had a lot of potential to be interesting, but others (typically the key ones) were bland and undeveloped. The plot was a little predictable and there were some avenues of interest that weren't explored as I'd have liked. The narration was a little monotone. Overall, an easy-listening audiobook with some fun elements of plot, but it's not going to blow your mind.

Dislike the reader.

It was hard to understand what she was saying unless i pay extreme attention and her voice or tone is just the absolute opposite of soothing. It was hard listening to her honestly. others may have a diff opinion but i didn't enjoy the reading.

Great audio book

Where does Fallen: The Fallen Series, Book 1 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would say it falls close to the Immortal Instruments and Twilight series audio books. Pretty high up there.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the romance and the angel themes throughout the story.

What does Justine Eyre bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She was expressive, brought tone, depth and allowed you to go on a journey with the characters. Great reader.

Fallen: Into the bin

One of the worst books I read. Reminds me of one of the stories I wrote at 14. I only finished it on the off chance it made sense in the end. It didn't.

*YAWN* SLOW! DULL!

Any additional comments?

This book is so slooooooow. torturously so. It took about half a book for the hero and the heroine to actually have a conversation! And the dialogue wasn't even that long.

For the majority part of it, this book consisted of unnecessary details. I do not need to know what's the color of her quilt or how many stains were on it. Or how many steps she had to take to the stairs. Or how many shades of blue was the sky. Or the color of her door! and how she felt about it.

Being taken through every details of this book in such slow pace and also seeing it all through a third person perspective from the heroine was just a pure boredom for me.

And what's with the language? They're ancient and super dull! i can see how the author's trying to approach this book in a literature sense, but boy do they sound boring! It's not at all the kind of language a teenager would use let alone teenagers in a boarding school?!

The narrator was also slow! at some point i screamed out in frustration for the woman to WAKE UP! I didn't feel like she's bringing the story to life at all (Most of the time that's the narrator's job to do so) no i felt like she's reading it just for the sake of it. "I see 3 apples. I see sky. I see doors. I see flowers." *Robot voice*

I can see the story can be very interesting.. Mysterious and almost captivating.. But the author string me along for too long that i just lost interest. Throw in this droning narrator and i caught myself planning my dinner, my day and wondering what's the weather's gonna be like tomorrow... until a nagging sound in my ears irritated me to presence when i realized i was still plugged in. BORING BORING BORING.

It does have some good redeeming quality though. The writing was excellent! Minus some of the ancient slangs and words she used. The scenes were smooth and well led. The author had done her research well. I think that's why i still toughed it out and listened to it for all the money it's worth.
